I have been struggling with how exactly I want to do this so I thought I would just ask......

My business has an outdoor incinerator that is propane fired but controlled by 120v "unit". It recently needed replace and though the old one had a countdown spring timer right on the control unit this one just has an SPST toggle switch.

I would prefer to turn it on remotely anyway so I was thinking I would just put a spring timer such as this

in the line that the control unit ultimately plugs in to.

Trouble is that this will be in an outdoor location and that switch is obviously not designed for such.....and I cannot find a weatherproof one (other than some of the landscape type stuff and even those are scheduled timers not countdown).

I was thinking I would just put it in one of those outdoor type boxes for an outlet or switch but I am not sure the cover plate on those would sufficiently protect it given the big knob on the timer. I did think of putting on of those huge covers on that protects cords that stay plugged in????????????

Any other thoughts?
