A young man once applied for a job with a master carpenter who was seeking an apprentice, and the prospective employer asked him, "Do you know your trade?"

    "Yes sir" said the applicant.

"Have you ever made a mistake?" was the next question.

"No sir", was the response, and the young man was certain he would get the job.

"Then there's no way I'm going to hire you," the veteran told him, "because when you do make a mistake, you won't know how to fix it."
Rather than worry about the things you want but don't have, be grateful for the things you don't want and don't have.

I didn't plan to do much of anything today, but by noon I was almost half done.

I once had a boss who said ... "I won't get upset if you make a mistake, as long as you are honest and fix it as best as possible. However, if you make the same mistake twice, you are fired."

Anybody who hasn't made mistakes either isn't doing anything or is dead.

I may remember why I went to the other end of the shop, I'm just afraid once I get there I'll forget how to get back!
