Best of luck to you David, really, really emotional for sure.

...

David, didn't mean to suggest this was on par with your situation, just relatable.

David,

I get it. Your compassion, both for me and for your boxers, shines thru sir. We are good.

This too shall pass.

David

45 and cloudy, headed to 70 and sunny.

I'm gonna ride my Harley to work today even though thee have been 2 fatal motorcycle crashes on I-95 each of the last 2 mornings.

Not because I don't care, think I'm a better rider (but I am, I was an instructor for over 8 years) but because I cannot let fear control me, and I love to ride. There is darn little joy in my life right now, I'm going to take it where I can.

I actually managed to sleep last night... That was a blessing.

Be well all,
David

57 and going to near 80. We went from winter to summer in a day. Sorry to hear of the boxer battles, kinda surprised me, my guys, father and daughter, are real close. The dad has let the daughter push in to eat from his dish, even when she was a little puppy. The only thing he is possesive of is his toy truck. But he has never bit her over it. He is very socialised, he used to spend his days at work at my wife's dog grooming shop, meeting a dozen or more dogs per day.

David, hope it gets better for you.

Low 50's going to 60's again if this dam# marine layer burns off soon. We should be low to mid 70's now. I'm tired of east wind and cool weather, come on summer!
David and David, hang in guys, the sun shines brightest after a cloudy day.

It's 45 F here this morning and the worthless cold front has moved through. I call it worthless because we didn't get a drop of rain out of it and I have to go out today and cover all my tender garden plants. Putting plastic row covers in place should be really fun in the 30 mph gusts of wind. The weather guessers have again changed the forecast for tonight to 30 F. Holy cow! That's a record cold for the month of May. My tomatoes just barely fit into my 5-gal buckets. To make matters worse, I've already seen and killed about a dozen cucumber beetles and one squash bug. I sprayed with a systemic Bayer insecticide yesterday that treats the plants and ground around them. It can be used only once per year and you have to wait at least 21 days after treatment to harvest anything. The 21 days is no problem because my cucurbits are still pretty small. I don't think we'll be picking anything until the 2nd week in June at the earliest. During the producing months, I use Sevin and soapy water to combat pests. I can use soap anywhere and I spray Sevin around the base of the plants and away from fruit and blooms so that bees aren't threatened to a large degree and fruit is not coated in the insecticide. Most all pests for vegetables seem to attack the plant rather than the fruit, except for corn where corn ear worms are the primary pest.
