Good afternoon. 90˚.
Don't be sorry Drew, the extended warm weather help me get going on my cardio for the day.
I'm tethered so I don't have to worry about hitting the wall and turning. I'm doing alternatives to running since my knees say no more running.

Don - Glad you stopped running....Some yrs. ago...I was about 44 yrs. old..and my hip was really hurting me...I went to the same Orthopedist / surgeon the University of Georgia Bulldogs used...He asked if I was a runner ...I said yes...He told me my knees were fine , my hip was the first showing result of my jogging and running . He said when he sees joggers he knows they will eventually be his patients or other Orthopedists patients....He told me to walk or do some other cardio than jogging or running...I listened then and as a result have not knee or hip pains or problems now...

Ditto - I was a runner - too many years I guess, but that was the Army way LOL
First time I complained about my knee, Dr's reaction, What did you expect, all those years running.
Of course, in the years since I added some weight just to aggravate the situation :(
I've since had partial replacements in both - what a difference.
No more running, just low impact. Do the recumbent bike and the Bowflex treadclimber. Also losing weight :)
Never been much of a swimmer.

Go Army...same here David...A mile every morning even after basic and AIT ...gets in your blood and hard to stop...LOL

I was never one of those compulsory type runners, although I had a commander who was. I ran to stay in shape but also attempt at weight control. I'd hover right around 200. One goal of this commander was to get me weighing in over my limit - never happened, but I'd be close enough for him to be hopeful LOL

My sweet spot was normally 3-5 miles, don't know why. I did train and run the Ft Benning marathon one year (1985).
Now I do 2 miles and a fraction on the treadclimber, takes me 32 minutes. Max speed is 4.0 mph so low impact, but I sure get up a sweat.

I wish that stem cell replacement cartilage was further along, staring weary eyed, at replacement now. :eek:uch:

Been gone a few days, we had to put my boxer dog Bubba down. He is my avatar here, and my best buddy I've ever had. He got cancer, we took him to a specialist, but they could do very little. He finally didn't even want to eat, but he did give me a kiss, just before he went down, a real sweet boy right to the end. He was in pain, and had to have painkillers for the last couple of weeks. It's amazing how much they get into your heart.

So sorry to hear about Bubba. There are no words that will help you now. I went through it with my Cedar 8 or 9 years ago. The only thing that will help is time. And maybe a new puppy. But I would wait a while.

When Cedar died, we said we were going to go dogless for a while. A couple of years later someone dumped Mocha, a chocolate lab, on us. While she is as different from Cedar {a chow} as night and day, we still love her very much. She is as happy a dog as I have ever had.

Sorry it didn't turn out well for Bubba. You tried. When hope is gone, it's braver and better to put them out of their misery.

300U; I am so very saddened to hear of your loss. They leave pawprints on our hearts, that can never be erased. I have posted these links elsewhere, but will post them here again for you.
