Morning from Central Nova Scotia, light breeze and 67 Degrees F.Bow Season for hunting deer is open here, also season for bear.Way to warm for My liking to be hunting, meat would spoil quickly in this weather if not taken care of right after the game animal is harvested.
As warm as it is here, the meat would likely have wolves (parasitic worms), in it anyway. I know the squirrels will until it frosts, and the deer here often do as well. Still from the size of the racks I saw in the buck herd out back this late summer before they started breaking up for rut, I might shoot one anyway!:D

Rainy and in the mid-60's is today's forecast. The dry air took a detour I think :)

NJ fires and CO floods! What a mess. My sister in Boulder says her neighborhood is not expecting any major problems, that's a relief.

60 degrees right now and a high of 64 predicted. Chance of rain has diminished (only 30% today) and the trend for the next several days is cooler (yea!!) and drier (also Yea!!!)

Might even be able to mow later today...it's pretty wet from last night's rain right now, but this afternoon should be dry enough.
I mow my fenced in area with a walk-behind mower with a grass catcher. Although I can get the tractor in the area (and have several times), I do prefer using the walk-behind mower for the exercise.
Also, those grass clippings come in handy. I put them around poles (have two telephone poles with guy wires on the property) and other areas to inhibit grass and weed growth. This reduces the need for trimming with the weed wacker.

Can you comment on the combining of red meat and sugar in the same sentence? I know meat is very, very bad but is sugar as well or did it just arbitrarily get lumped in with meat?

Sixdogs, finally found the answer, of all places on page 56 of October 2013 Readers Digest. In the article by Joel K. Kahn MD
"Three Ways to Attack your Hear Risk
1. Get the right test.......
2. Avoid the three D's: Delay, Denial, and Death.....
3. Watch your blood sugar - Contrary to what most of my patients think, not all "bad" LDL cholesterol is equally harmful. The latest science shows it is more damaging when it is modified by oxygen or glucose. Test that directly measure these modified LDLs aren't widely available, but doctors can follow this simple secrete to get an estimate: The higher your blood sugar, the higher your modified LDL cholesterol levels ........"

Kahn is a cardiologist that has seen the effects of lifestyle change and says: "...most people have no idea that 75% of heart disease can be stopped by decisions they make with forks and spoons, gym shoes and weights and smoking or not."

A very bright cloudless good morning in central Texas! 74˚ getting to 99˚. I can't wait for that first cold front to hit but it looks like next Friday before the temps drop into the 60's in the morning.

Drew - a donut?????? You can eat those???? I thought they were something you sat on when you had butt problems.:D

(If it's not a Shipley's it's not a donut - one of the foods that unknowingly helped my plaque buildup for my first 50 years.)

That must feel like dodging a bullet. Do you need to get follow-up treatment for that?

I Googled "benign bone tumor" but that is all I know about it, which is enough to be dangerous and ask stupid questions.

Next week, I go in for surgery, they will take the bone tumor off, and I will be on limited duty for 4 to 6 weeks. I was surprised at the size of the hospital, much bigger than our local place. Like 1000X!! Lots of specialised clinics. Very nice place. Thanks for the concern, guys.

It would be a good morning if I can get my 11.2-24" R1 tire will bead up for me. Was actually proud of myself getting on the rim.

The rim was so rusted, it wouldn't hold air. So I took the tire off (struggled and then paid $25 to have it dismounted). We had put Slime in it years and years ago. It all turned into a rusty quagmire of fibrous crud. Pressure washed everything best I could. Went and bought a $17 dollar wire cup wheel for my grinder and a 40 grit flapper wheel too. Got all I could off with the wire wheel, leaving deep rust pits. I took the flapper wheel and started grinding to get a smooth surface where the bead contacts the rim. Some places I bet I took off 1/16". Got the rim hot enough to burn the heck out of my forearm...

Used Rusty metal primer from Rustoleum and a can of yellow paint to paint the rim/wheel. I gave it a few days in the sun to dry and harden. I now have the tire mounted but can't get it to air up. I'm wondering if I ground to much off the rim? Hope not.

Debating on using ether or hairspray to "blow" it on. Any words to the wise? I need this done so I can get to mowing and weed eating.

Kyle
