Neighbor calls today and says can you stop by? The wife and I drive over and they are moving in a 24x48 house !!!
They have the fence cut down and need to pull the house up a hill about 30 degrees 200 yards long ... soft ground. The house mover, who by the way knew his job, Lemons Movers, Inc. says its going to be a tough uphill pull thru the cow pasture.
He hooked up two 4x4 ford F-250 pickup trucks to each side beam, a skid steer with tracks to the front of the truck and the uphill climb started ... about 70% of the way up eveyone spun out ... the house was backed down the hill and then a Kubota M7040 took the place of the skid steer and the skid steer went behind to push ... the horn sounded on the big rig and the uphill race was agian on ... those F-250's threw mud all over ... the skid steer couldn't keep up and slack in the chain between the truck and the kubota .... the neighbor quickly up shifted the Kubota and when the "mud" setteled the house was up the hill.
Dad gum it ... no camera ... but check this out Lemons Company - House and Structural Moving, Bridge Building, and Demolition in Texas founded by his father, the two brothers worked for dad until 1976 and then Billy took over the operation. They moved it from Whitesboro Texas to Caddo Oklahoma.
I was very impressed with the job Billy Lemons and his crew did.
