Online order with Home Depot

I ordered a Ridgid 8kW portable generator from Home Depot online (not available in local stores). Placed the order Wednesday evening after 6PM, got email confirmation that the order shipped Thursday evening at 6PM, and a [Averitt Express] semi was here with the thing at 4:30 Friday afternoon. This is a rural (county road) location, not in town...

I was impressed.

Placing the order required a few phone calls to Home Depot Customer Support (the credit card company requested verification from me for the order), and every call, within a minute or two I was talking to an English speaking person in Dallas.

I was impressed.

We ordered a large 200 amp GE breaker box from HD online and it also arrived very quickly. After looking in the local store for what we needed and not finding it, it was a simple matter to locate it online and put in an order. We were very pleased with the Home Depot online experience and delivery. I usually shop Lowes, but I got to admit, Home Depot's online setup is much easier and faster to search.

I ordered a Weber Genesis grill from HD online. One afternoon soon after, a pickup rolled down my driveway and up to the house. I stepped out to greet the driver and noticed my grill in the bed of the pickup. A lady of substantial size and her son told me they were there to deliver my grill. Declining my offer to help, they unloaded the grill and set the box down in front of my garage door where I directed. I signed for delivery and the lady told me she was a contract delivery person for HD in my area. I had no idea that they used local people on contract for rural deliveries. I thought that was pretty cool.
