    The short version is that, with a "fault-finder" tester that shows amp direction, you can simply "follow the arrow" to the location of the short. Just keep walking until the current flow changes direction, and then you know you passed the short. Otherwise, it's just trial and error. I honestly do not know how people maintained electric fences without these.

    You've got that right!
    I sometimes think about the hardships my poor Grandfather endured to keep this farm going. I wonder if he'd be proud of where we are now or just think we're (me) a bunch of spoiled pricks.

    My grandfather always said, "I'd rather wear out than rust out!"

    We're gonna wear out! The RTV'S extend the "expire on" date. My grandfather would be proud. Yours, too, I'm sure.
