Every year I try to log a section of my property, Last year I took a lot of Hemlock and Pine out, since my friends mill is a couple miles up the road and that is what he deals with, Makes Hemlock worth more to take when trucking it is close.

This year I was going to take some more Hemlock and Pine along with Hard and Soft Maple. There is a lot of Blow down from the storm last fall so that is what we are working on now, Then I may get back on course and hit the Maple.

Most of the wood in the Pic's Would not have been taken because of it's smaller size but this is all blow down so it is going.

Looks like fun to me ,I would rather be clearing land than just about anything else . I remember when I was young the loggers in Maine skidding logs out with horses .

Looks like fun, and a lot of work at the same time. I logged my own land for years, picking what was ready leaving what needed more time. Did not have the nice equipment you have. Had an old skider that worked most of the time, and an old 2 ton truck that I paid $100 for. Loaded with my farm tractor and got out a load each morning and farmed the rest of the day. Looks like you are up and doing way ahead of that, enjoy. That's beautiful country, I bet you have a big smile on your face every time you stand up long enough to stretch your back. I know I would.:)

I love my land here, Every year I get it closer to how I want it, After I get my Shop done, I hope to build a new barn. I am starting on a Outdoor Aviary for my Peafowl this week.
