There was a similar study done in Illinois on Crows about 6 years ago. One of their senators was driving thru the country side and saw a bunch of crows were all dead along side of the road. So the Senator invests billions of taxpayer dollars on a study to find out why these crows died. He found out that the crows would eat a lot of carrion from along side the road & when they did they would post a "Watch Crow" to warn all the others when a car came by. Yet a LOT of them were still being hit/killed on the road. The Senator finally figured it out all by himself, he said that the "Watch Crow" would say CAW CAW it would not say "Truck"... After he declared the problem understood he was later moved to a higher office & is now working on "Crow Healthcare..." :D

There you have the rest of the story...

They crow to insure that the sun continues to rise and insure a bountiful harvest (it's better than human sacrifice).

And do we wonder why the economy is in the state it is.
Guess funds were available and they had to be used or none for next year.
Still better than a study on the Afican TseTse fly or Mali locusts I guess.
