It's finally spring in the north land, and that means one thing. Flooding!
More to the point, the Roseau Lake, which was drained a couple generations ago, makes it's annual reappearance to remind us of once was. The only problem is, the road going to our farm, just happens to run right through the old lake bed. At the time of these photos, I'm guessing about one mile of road is under water. It will probably remain that way for a few weeks. Meanwhile, we'll just take the long way around. (Add ten miles.)
For those interested, nobody is in danger, as we all live on higher ground. This is just wildlife refuge and some smatterings of farm land... and our road.
Here are the pics. Both ends of the road are pictured, as are various shots of the lake, while it remains. By midsummer, this will look like prairie again.
