It is getting close to time to plant, about 2-3 more weeks. The transplants in the green house will be ready to start hardening off in about a week. I have 450 tomato plants, 700 pepper (will plant around 350), cucumbers, straight neck squash, zucchini squash, watermelon, Athena cantaloupe, that will be ready for transplant in 2 weeks.

I will also direct sow everything but the tomato and pepper in the field. And will also be planting corn, green beans, peas, lettuce, carrots, and a few other things in 1-2 weeks.

100 pound of potatoes were planted about 3 weeks ago, and 1300 onions were planted about 3-4 weeks ago.

I will be using plastic and drip for the first time this year so it will be interesting to see the difference.

One of the tomato pictures is from one week ago when I transplanted for the seed tray to the plant tray. The other picture is one week later with great growth.

I mix my own seed starter for the plant trays and have my own mixture for the plant trays that seems to be working great.

I have several type of herbs started and will plant more this weekend.

IT is time for a bigger greenhouse:D

Nice.
My ground is still frozen just under the grass.
We don't plant our indoor stuff like tomatoes and peppers until Good Friday.
Last freeze is usually April 15th and last frost is usually May 15th.
Fruit trees have been pruned. Putting on some dormant oil spray soon.

I love this time of year!

Moss,

I love this time of year too but it is an extremely busy time. We usually plant transplant May 1st or the last week of April. I had a heavy frost this morning so that's why plants had not been set out to harden off. IT is just too many plants to set out of a day and bring in of a night.

I will put the shade cloth over the arbor this weekend so when plants are set out they won't be hit by a frost.

My plum trees have bloomed but I don't know yet how much the frost has hurt them.

I had fantastic grapes and apples last year. Nice apricots, too. Lost my nectarines to some fungus or something. Never any peaches ever. I'm trying a pollinator this year. But with the cold winter and cool spring expected, I'll be surprised if we get much fruit. I just have a dozen fruit trees as a hobby. Fun to play with.

I plan to plant my onions & tators tomorrow, probably some peas. Haven't started my greenhouse yet, hope to first of next week. ~~ Lowell
