Heat index contest

After lots of rain this spring and early summer, we have been about 3 weeks without rain, and grass is dying.

Down here in the deep south, we have very high humidity which results in high dewpoints and very uncomfortable weather. What kind of 'heat index' do you have in your area? Below is a pic I snapped off of a web site a few days ago.

Ha Ha. Today we are close to or bettering records for the lowest high temp of the day in this area. Back to the mid-80's this coming week though.

Right now it is 61F and "it feels like 61F" with 96% humidity. There is foggy cloud mist in the air.

I don't know the actual humidity level, but last Friday was particularly brutal. Only 99 degrees but a "heat index" of 108. Unfortunately I had run out of work to do on a project in my a/c equipped ctl and sat on my open cab tractor in a pool of sweat all day.

We have had upper 90's all week and heat index has be 101 to 115 deg.
Humidity has ranged from 92% to 57% when the temp is >100.
Currently we are 91 with 65% humidity. HI is 108

But Steve, it's a "dry" cold.
It actually does make a big difference. The humidity % (dew points) does really spoil both the hot & cold temps.

This was copied a few moments ago. Note the heat index is at 115 and the dewpoint temp is at 81* Then look at the chart below to find the comfort level of depoint at 81*

Last weekend was HI in the high 90's in Ohio and worse than normal, I work for international company & a German counterpart said they had ambient temps in the 105 range >80% humidity now that is miserable.

As far as Wind Chills, then Ohio will be in mix for sure, this spring we had -40s & set multiple records for lowest "high" temps when the HIGH doesn't get into + range is is cold...

107 now in central Oklahoma. Highest in the last 3 days was 109.

It's been so ho' here, a bunch of cows froze. That's right, froze to death. Wha' happened is the corn started popping right off the stalks, cows thought it was snow and got so cold they froze stiff.
