Pole bending was always one of my favorite horse sports. That horse resembles my best pole bending horse, Peppy, who gave me his best time of 21 seconds in 1995 when I was 50 years old. It's 20 years later now but we both still ride on occasion.

The photo is Peppy with one of our friend's daughter who won many awards on Peppy.

I'll have to show that to my oldest daughter, who's 11yo. She's really getting into her horse and is thinking of pole bending. Her horse is real fast, but not good at tight turns though. She's also thinking of competitive trail riding. She's going to ride in the parade for the North Texas State Fair this weekend. She's pretty excited and so am I!

It's fun to watch a young girl bond with her horse. Her horse would do anything for her and she dotes on him night and day.

Awe the memories that brings back. From the ages of 8yo till I was about 14, you could find me at a horse show doing poles, barrels, goat tying, and what ever fun event they had going. Then I found Rodeo's. Now 50 years later I love to go to the local arenas to watch it all over again.

Thanks for that. BTW she is a sister in law to me. My wife was more into the cattle and I was into motocross and enduros so some of the same dedication to be good at it.
