Getting IT done, down on the farm

Yep...I understand. Sometimes if you want stuff done, you just got to do it.
While nowhere near the scale of what she did, I got tired of the choice of lousy DSL (512k....on a good day) or expensive satellite service, and built a road + 100' tower at the top of my mountain to get wireless into our valley.
Now the entire valley is served by a local wireless company with speeds up to 100mb, cheaper than the previous lousy DSL, I get mine free + $100/mo for use of my tower.
No way to get concrete up there, so I built a 'rock box' for the base of the tower.

Wow!!! Down in the valley is REALLY down. And to think - when I was young and in my prime - I climbed my tower(ham radio) all the time. That pic looking up brings back old memories that make me squirm.

Rocks.... can always count on them..... same way utilities base poles in swamps around here.

Yeah, last time I climbed it was about 5 years ago, 6 months after my triple bypass surgery. Wife like to had a cow over it....ahahahaaa
