Made in USA is not what it once was huh?

Huskee and SpeeCo splitters are not made in USA, they are made in China...... As far as the engines, they could be US built but are a very low line of Honda engine, NOT a commercial engine as used on real log splitters. Most of these cheap splitters are using nothing more than a push mower spec engine.

Not to be so blunt, but they are box store junk!

Ah, ok, that sounds better.

The Chinese can't make anything well. But yet Americans lap it up and make that coutry rich! Wal-Mart, Harbor-frieght, you name it. All junk.

And that reinforces a fact that even HONDA has a line of low quality crap too. People are always so quick to assume that if it is HONDA powered, it is the best. A nice little reality check.

Glad no one was hurt, and I hope the recall is well publicized, so it remains that way.

Not sure where you got your Speeco log splitter at but the one I have has a Briggs I/C engine, Barnes Haldex pump, Energy valve and maybe Energy cylinder (not sure no markings) and is clearly better then the ones that are sold at Home Depot or Lowes made by MTD/Cub Cadet and a whole lot better then the China made ones at Harbor Freight. They may have changed some of the sourcing for parts recently but I still think alot of the parts are US. If you have proof otherwise I would like to see it as it looked like they were made in the US.

Fantasy: Today, Ford Motor Company announced the new $prius hybrid car. It will be similar to the Toyota Prius, and will be made somewhere in America.
