Yep, I fried two yesterday, but of course, I've fried a few in the past, and the videos are giving some good advice. I didn't make any pictures this year, but here's some pictures from a year ago today, and yesterday, I used the same rig in the same location.

Hey Bird, Where did you get that Fryer. Ours is a POS and I would love to find something better, like yours.

My turkey fryer is Model (BB10707A) Saf-T-Fryer purchased on 9/26/08 for $69.99 plus tax (total of $75.76) from Cabela's on I-35W, north side of Ft. Worth. And yep, it's a dandy.

As long as you take precautions to safely use the fryer and if things get out of hand have a backup plan, and a fire extinguisher at the ready. Enjoy the feast.

I like the one where they are cooking on a wooden deck and the "turkey" wants to use the garden hose to put out the fire. And better yet, the men are too macho to call 911 for help. And then some woman wants to sprinkle backing soda on gallons of burning oil. By the time they called 911 and the fire truck arrived, just the chimney would be standing. Got-a love it!:D

Great video! The guy in the first video cracks me up trying a little too hard to stay what I'd call uncomfortably calm. Though his ability to plan ahead is a little lacking his method to extinguish the fire was obviously effective but I'm not sure I'd be throwing something with any weight at, on, or over the fryer if I were in that same predicament. You just know his sensible wife probably told him not to place the fryer on the deck which he quickly dismissed as nothing more than background noise.

I do have to get one of those fryers though, that turkey photo posted above looks mouth watering delicious. Go figure, come to a tractor forum to get tips about cooking a turkey. On second thought after watching a few more videos perhaps I'l just stick with the oven.

The safest way to deep fry a turkey is to order one from Honey Ham.
