digging in sand!!!

yeah we all love to dig in sand but you gotta be careful when digging in sand. It's just not stable, it can NOT be compacted!!! Case in point when you dig in sand STAY AWAY FROM THE EDGES!!!! were putting in a new shop and today we had the cement truck come to pour the walls on the hill side of the shop but after I said keep the truck at least 4feet away from the edge. no one listens to me where I'm just 23 years old the older folks (sorry to you older ones out there this dosent apply to all of you but just the ones in this case right now) anyways what do I know I'm only the young one here so what happens well lets see

the hole about 3.5 feet away from the driveway 3.3 feet or one meter is the closest you should be to any excavation

the truck is here with 6 yards of cement

SOOOOOOOOOO lucky that truck driver has NO Idea how lucky he is

this truck driver better buy a loto ticket tonight on his way home from work before his luck runs out

this is better but dont get any closer

Whats it take for some people to listen to others? I hate to say it but with some people it takes something like this or worse.

Yep that happens quite a bit I'm afraid...
Had a cement driver and contractor NOT heed a warning from a my mother on something similar, "We're the professionals here" Well in that case, the driver wasn't so lucky - After getting off the road about 20 feet and FAR short of the unloading point, the truck sank like rock on a still pond. TWO tow trucks later and a ruined batch of cement left SOME very reddened faces for sure... The driver couldn't EVEN look at my mother when he left and the major damage was done. :ashamed:

"OOPS" took on a WHOLE new meaning in my family after that :laughing:

Sand is by far the worst, but I have seen a few stupid things next to a dirt bank as well. And yes, like you stated, nobody ever wants to listen!!

yeah and best of all I got to be the lucky guy to go in the hole and redig it all out again by hand again cause of the underground power and phone lines right there we were lucky they didnt get pulled outwhen the truck went in the hole anyone load a 12 yard dumptruck by hand?...I HAVE NOW
