Haven't hit one at any speed yet but had one that couldn't decide if it should go down on the right or up on the left as I was trying to go to work one morning. It started to go one way and I thought it was gone and it turned around and ran back into me. No damage, I took off before he could get up and come after me again:laughing:

my stepbrother was riding his harley a couple years ago , a six pointer hit him from the side and punctured his lung and spleen he was found on the side of the road with the bucks antlers broken off in his chest . , now 100 percent recovered, so be thankfull you are only out some panels.
Humm,
I often think about that when I'm out riding my Road King, just keeping my fingers crossed. Actually the title should of said" Deer hit Wife's car", as after seeing this thread, she said.:(:(

Here in the RI Socialistic Republic, the state pays for your damages as all deer are wards of the state.

My neighbor was driving 55 MPH down the road in his conversion van. A deer crashed through the side picture window and then went nuts trying to get out. He managed to not crash the van but the inside was a mess.

My in-laws were on the interstate when the car ahead of them flipped a deer up in the air, it came through there windshield and it was like a deer bomb went off inside their car. No serious injuries, but that took time to figure out with deer blood everywhere. Entire interior had to be replaced.

Take care

Dead deer carcasses that had been hit by vehicles are very prevalent at all times during the year in my area. Luckily, I have never hit any yet in the truck. Knock on wood.

Back in the 80's, two of my uncles where moose hunting in Saskatchawan. They drive around the back roads until the see a moose and then one of them will shoot it. They where in my uncle Al's family van with windows all the way around it, driving down the road real slow, looking for a moose. Neither of them saw it coming, but all of a sudden, they where hit from the side by a very large bull moose. He was in full rut and had decided to attack the van. He hit it over and over again to the point of breaking out the glass and denting in the side of the van!!!! Both of my uncles where armed with rifles, but neither of them could react in time to do anything. They said it was over in seconds.

They made the front page of the Prince Albert newspaper with a caption that said soemthing like Hunters get Hunted, and a picture of them standing beside the van with all the damage.

It is amazing but where we live and where wife's car was hit by deer, there are lots of Whitetails.( noticed that I said it right this time:D:D) ha, ha, deer hit her car. There are lots of deer around our area, and the hunters are getting fewer and fewer, including myself. I have to keep both of my buddies, (dogs) on K9 anti tick and flea meds all year due to the heavy deer & turkey population that cross our property.Last year near our driveway three deer at the same time were hit trying to cross our road, all three ran into the side of a tractor trailer.I guess the good thing is that some pick up the ones that are not mangled too bad and bring them somewhere, hopefully to a soup kitchen.
