years ago I unhitched a trailer from the back of the then firechiefs truck, at our annual chicken and rice pilau. I didnt know they had loaded the front of the closed trailer with saltine crackers and the rear with CASES of rice. when I pulled up on the trailer latch it sent my pepsi can that I had set on the trailer tounge into orbit. It might still be up there with sputnic LOL if that coupler had hit me I am sure it would have shattered my jaw

Please dont use cam straps to hold in anything that needs to be tighter than you could tie it with a rope, use ratchet straps instead.
We had a friend almost lose a dirt bike because their camlock straps worked loose as the bounced down the road.
Those are $18 for 2. For $24, I got 4 1000# WLL (3000# breaking strength) ratchet straps (Reese Carry Power Heavy Duty Ratchet, 4-Pack) at Walmart. I have had mine for ~4 years now and they are still going strong.
