It might be a good idea to always read ALL of the "fine print".

Once the fire started the oven was unplugged and moved outside.
The fire continued to burn until nothing was left but a small black residue of charcoal.

Our barn door is now closed. At least for taco shells.

Though I too like them toasted, I have found that around 1 minute in the microwave produces satisfactory results.

And now I can say it's safer too.

Dang who would have thought. You know that warning is on there because you aren't the first one to set the toaster on fire. :). Glad you got it out side!

I went to another page and then came back to this.....

I can toast bread in an toaster oven and it does not catch on fire. Nor do English muffins and a variety of other products....

WHY do taco shells burst into flames? Are these things loaded with oil?

Later,
Dan

Because, at the time I was warming up a cup of coffee in the microwave and the wife stacks pans in the oven. We have a new toaster oven now.
