Rick you've sold me on having one. I'm truly curious to try one out on my VT hillsides. A couple of questions though. First your specs give -20 degrees rating. Could you tell me what would happen to one if -temps exceeded that. Its been known to make it to -30 on occassion. Not often but it happens. Would it break or just be inoperable until the temps warmed up? My other question has to do with mounting. For it to work right the unit must be mounted plumb? Taping it to a surface less than 90 degrees from horizontal like a slanted dash is out right? This is just so I can decide where to put it and what size to use. Keep up the good work.

DFB, First, the temp. question. The fluid I use in the
meters is rated for -20F, before it starts to get more sluggish. The meter will still work, but the ball will move noticeably slower. As far as plumb, yes it must be, to operate properly. As stated in an earlier post, you could make a small wedge, about 4 in. long, and cut to the right angle, and use adhesive strip. Or if you're handy with sheet metal, a wedge could be cut and bent to right angle. Please be careful about sharp edges however. One more note on temp. If temperature was EXTREME, the tube could implode. Not explode. If this ever happens, I will replace meter on warranty. I only have the capability to test my tubes to -40F. So far I have lost very few. Each tube is tested at +170 f. to -20 f. before they are put into meter. I test batches of about 200 at a time. Hope this helps.
