I guess English is different in your country.

    Definition of ACCIDENT
1a : an unforeseen and unplanned event or circumstance b : lack of intention or necessity : chance <met by accident rather than by design>
2a : an unfortunate event resulting especially from carelessness or ignorance b : an unexpected and medically important bodily event especially when injurious <a cerebrovascular accident> c : an unexpected happening causing loss or injury which is not due to any fault or misconduct on the part of the person injured but for which legal relief may be sought d —used euphemistically to refer to an involuntary act or instance of urination or defecation
3: a nonessential property or quality of an entity or circumstance <the accident of nationality>

Wow good job on the google definition! Medal for you!!!

In the emergency world there is a few terms that may not show up in dictionaries or google but do in these professional texts.

    MVC: Motor Vehicle Collision

Was MVA in the past but it is accepted practice now that ALL collisions can be prevented!

Did you even read your own def or just cut and past??

1a : an unforeseen and unplanned event or circumstance

Can you honestly tell me that your own definition fits this tragedy??

Disagree if you like but that's the way it is. Harsh but true. My heart does go out to those affected as I hope to NEVER lose a child for any reason.

This is very sad. Vehicles of all sorts need to be treated with caution, particularly around kids. I recall thinking my dad was overly cautious, but now I know how wise he was. My heart goes out to the family.

Accidents, like this one, require more of our compassion than our judgement, imo.

Society is equally critical of "helicopter" parenting; the fear of parents over-protecting their kids.

Not always easy to see what is so clear, in hindsight.

I agree with you. The other day i was blowing snow in several different areas of our yard visibility was limited because the wind blew it back on me in several instances. I knew the kids were inside the house. All of a sudden i spot my dog about twenty feet ahead of the blower. It wasn't really a close call but the thought went through my head. That's how accidents( or what ever technical other word you may use) happen. It was my wife that let the dog out. She thought it would good for him to get out.

    "PRECAUTIONS" hamper accidents...
This one could have been prevented IMO...

Those who disregard or ignore precautions will continue to suffer the consequences

too many prayers and sympathy for the family here. Sounds like a default saying on this site when something goes wrong that could have easily been avoided. So heres my expression "dumb *** parents". Hey johnny go play out in the snow with no supervision". Dad runs over kid. Idiots. spade and neuter those 2 dumb dogs. I don't even let my dogs outside in my fenced in pasture (10 acres) without me watching over them because I actually care about their well being too much. I guess idiots don't care too have a watchful eye over a human being.
