Dont get complacent.
All,
In reading the local newspaper this morning we had a local 87yr old run over by his own tractor over the weekend. Not sure of the specifics but it appears the gentleman was tilling his garden and got off the tractor to pick up some rocks the tiller had kicked up. While bent over and back too to the tractor the tractor rolled backward and the victims legs became tangled in the tiller tines.
I know it is human nature to became comfortable and complacent with everyday tasks. I know we all run our tractors differentl and own a variety of different brands, but we should all try and stay on top of the basic safety guidelines for operation.
To my knowledge the vicitm survived. I am not sure if the tiller (PTO) was engaged or not. I would assume if it was engaged it would have been a different story, unless the tractor stalled?12' DK40SE HST
