I see that most, if not all, new equipment comes with chains to attach to the implement and the PTO shield to keep it from turning. Now I agree completely thet the shaft shield is a great idea, but are those chains really necessary?
It seems to me that they will make the shield wear out sooner from the friction of the shaft rubbing against the stationary shield.
Is this just something to keep the lawyers happy or should I make sure to always use a chain?
