I had heard a similar expression.."when you work for yourself you only have to work 1/2 days...and doesn't matter which 12 hours it is[img]/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif[/img]". Actually, during the early part of my business 12 hours would have been a *short* day for me..

Harv, EJB, Bird, thanks for the kind words guys!
I sure can relate to the self employment, and in many ways, regret going back to the corporate world, but in my case, it was a definate plus for the obvious reason. It has kept me in the money (disability, med. ins.), but I did miss the independance, ability to choose the job I was going to work next, location, etc. The only trouble, is in my particular niche, it is scattered far and wide (city, govt), and not used quite so heavily in the corp. world per se. VAX/VMS is my arena, and you computer geeks know how limited it is. There aren't many of us out there, so the demand is quite prevalent. Best wishes on the re-arrangements Harv, and I hope it is in plenty of time! |
