A blast from the past, but it happened a couple houses down the street from my old house (address was 2234, which is where my user name came from).
Being part of a fairly large city,(JAX) in the middle of a housing developement where the houses are 11 feet from the property lines (70x110' lots) would give you the feeling you're safe, lol! This picture was actually shot from a bathroom window two doors down and across the street.

"The alligator went crazy," said Jessica Rodriguez, 30, Deltona.

The deputy fell off, and the animal turned and bit him on the leg. As the deputy rolled away, the gator continued to go after him, witnesses said. Another deputy shot at the alligator repeatedly with a Glock .40-caliber handgun, said sheriff's Lt. Brodie Hughes. The animal was hit but not killed.
