    Re: Maintenance Lift

Thanks. I use the blower about 10 hours per year for fall leaves. It's a nice attachment that is surprisingly quiet for the amount of air it puts out. I haven't had any issues with it.

    Re: Maintenance Lift

Thanks. I just wanted something to get things at eye level. Cleaned the carb and fuel tank on my 4 wheeler Saturday and found it so much easier to work on.

    Maintenance Lift

Hello all and Happy New Year!

I purchased a lift a few months back and it really speeds up maintenance on my Ventrac's and other related equipment. I refer to it as my "Back saver / Time saver. ...

    Re: Attaching attachments

The landscape rake hooks up easier with the guide wheels in the long position. I also find that pulling close to the rake and hooking up the hydraulics and electric before driving into the hitch...

Re: VENTRAC OWNERS: HELP! STEERING ISSUES KT4200

I have the same unit you have / 4200 VXD TD. It is 5 years old with 1100 hours. Other than changing the HYD filter and topping off fluid I have not had a need for any HYD maintenance. Sitting...

What model Ventrac do you have? If an older 4100 or 4200 there is a radiator upgrade available.

Re: This ole boy would break an anvil!

Did the wheel come off? I had a similar circumstance last Summer. In my case the bearing failed in the housing allowing the entire yoke and wheel to fall under the rough cut. Needless to say it...

    Re: mower leaves uncut leaves

Ventrac makes an optional high lift blade for the 60" & 72" mowers. Perhaps this option is available for the contour mower. In my opinion they make a big difference in cut quality. They also...

    Re: Neutral start switch

I purchased the 4100 used at 600 hours, now 1200. I have had no issues with the Kawasaki 25 engine at all. It is air cooled. It does not have the vertical stack muffler so it has a good bark to...

    Re: Neutral start switch

I also own a 4100 series gas. 25 Kawasaki. 1200 hrs. I checked it out and there is just a small amount of play in the actuator. The only difference I could tell is that the brake on the 4100 is...

    Re: Neutral start switch

Thanks BK. Rather than aggravate myself with the switch adjustment I super glued a couple of thin washers to the tab (picture attached). Maybe just a band aid, however it fixed the problem for now....

Thanks RD. Really appreciate the picture! I tried to follow the blue wire from the starter solenoid, but lost it in the bundle. The Ventrac part diagrams are not very helpful. Been starting the...

    Neutral start switch

Anyone know where the neutral start switch is on the 4231? Looks like it should be around the left foot peg, but I don't see it. Having some intermittent neutral lockout starting problems. Thanks!...

    Re: My Slope Guage lies.

Take a ball cap. Punch a hole in the brim and hang a 1oz lead sinker from it. If your head is upright and you can no longer see the sinker it's time to find a way off that slope! Just saying!

Re: Ventrac 4500 vs Steiner 440

To me diesel is just easier to store and dispense as compared to gasoline. While I have easy access to off-road diesel I still buy the low sulpher as it seems to burn cleaner. I use a couple of 55...

Re: Ventrac 4500 vs Steiner 440

Excellent post and a good example as to why low hour drives are a lot stiffer and noisier than high hour drives. As the rear pump wears the front pump doesn't bypass nearly as much. Also a good...

Were you running in high range or low? If running in low the HYD drive motors will increase your fuel consumption almost 2X. High drive does require a bit more force on the control lever when on...

Re: Thumb Grapple on slip scoop

    Jack,
It is close. I'll likely solve that problem by moving the mounting bracket forward an inch. I'll use a couple of pieces of 1/4 x 4" plate under the lip of the bucket to extend the lip 1 1/2"....
