Buying Advice Re: Newbie Tractor Owner Here

I have a 7.5' rear finish mower, and I've gone back to just using my zero turn because it's faster. I used to cut around the house, and inside the fenced area with the ZTR, then use the tractor with...

    Re: What color

A Kioti DK45SE is a very nice machine with a lot more capability and features than the other two you mentioned....and a really powerful loader. Dollar for dollar, Kioti is hard to beat and they've...
  89. Re: What has happened to tractors? Help us choose another workhorse for our tree farm

    Nice machine!
  90. Re: Your thoughts on Pole Barn general construction and kits

I'm not a big fan of putting the posts below grade. I had to go with a poured foundation on mine, so I used Sturdi-Wall brackets on top of the foundation. If I was able to go with poured columns, I...
  91. Re: Bent stabilizer. Convert to ball bushing stabilizer?

I bent a stabilizer, but it was because I bounced a mower off a stump.

Many people wind up bending this style because they leave too much play in them...once that weight starts moving, something...
  92. Re: Is There a Difference Between New Holland & LS as a Company ?

The Mitsubishi engine in the R4047 I had wasn't loud at all. It was noticeably quieter than the Kioti DK50SE I had running right next to it as well. My Massey is louder than either :-)
  93. Re: What has happened to tractors? Help us choose another workhorse for our tree farm

Not only that, but keeping things like filters/fluids/etc would be simpler with two identical machines.
  94. Re: What has happened to tractors? Help us choose another workhorse for our tree farm

You're right...I forgot the 4wd requirement. There's a nice one on Tractor House right now: http://www.tractorhouse.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=5804288

I've never owned a Mahindra, but...
  95. Re: What has happened to tractors? Help us choose another workhorse for our tree farm

The way he described it, the 3930 is still working, but they're expanding and want to add another tractor. I wouldn't expect that model to be worn out at 5K hours if properly cared for, but usage...
  96. Re: What has happened to tractors? Help us choose another workhorse for our tree farm

If you're happy with your 3930, I can't see a reason for trying something different.

    There's a nice 3930 available locally....under 650 hours for $11,998. There's even a guy here on TBN that...

Re: MF dozer ID, and advice

I think I'm just stubborn enough to get it going again :D I've had to shift back to working on my barn...plenty of stuff to get done before the weather turns. It may wind up as more of a winter...

Re: MF dozer ID, and advice

Well, I started to remove that plug, and it started seeping red transmission fluid before I even got it out, so I stopped. I figured that if the plug is near the top, and fluid starts coming out,...

    Re: Ls vs kioti

It does seem strange, but they clearly spec it as PTO horsepower. The DK45SE cab is rated at 36hp PTO, and the DK50SE is listed at 37.5hp PTO, so they are consistently on the low side for the engine...
