I don't know about a 1920, but I used the transmission input shaft on my 1700. Just 4 bolts and slide it right out.

Well I had my first experience with a stuck clutch. I had my tractor over at my mothers doing a little work and I had to leave it outside uncovered. It rained and was a week later before I got back...
Would the point "wood screw thread" actually pull the cutter down into the stump? I think RPM would need to be very slow for a 3ph type.
I have a Long 1537 that looks pretty much like it. The wheels are adjustable height, but I usually take mine off. I have sand so I just set the height with the lift. It has a center pinion and...
Can't tell from the photo.

Try Onan Parts.Com, Rebuild Parts for Onan engines
If you do a wet compression test you can evaluate the ring condition.
You say "stuck", how stuck? I would adjust the clutch for minimum freeplay, put it in gear, depress the clutch, and try to start the tractor. If you can start without movement then get it...
Well if an 8A is rated for your tractor and if the larger numbers are for larger sizes then the JD 10 BH would be too big. My 1700 weighs in at 2500 lbs. plus weights.
TractorData.com shows the 1700 is rated for a Ford 757/758 hoe with 106/140 inches of reach from the pivot. The JD 10 looked similar in size.
I have a Ford 1700 4WD, 23HP. That is why I wanted HP requirements, looking for a small hoe. I couldn't find any info online.
Thanks, but if the price is right and the hoe is small enough, then I can adapt it to my tractor. I was hoping for someone that had knowledge of this particular BH to chime in.
Any one have a JD 10 backhoe? What HP range is needed for operation? I am looking at one on an auction site. Haven't gone to actually look at the unit yet. Photos show subframe attached, looks...
Is this it? Filter From Home Depot.
Have you tested the PH of your water? I have acid/soft water and anything metal will corrode and fail.
OH NO, Tool Control!!! I worked for the Airforce at a Depot and we had to inlay all our tools to make sure we didn't loose or leave a tool inside an airplane or component. This is a good way to...

If you ran out of fuel there could be air in the injector line from the pump to the injector. Loosen the line at the injector and crank the engine. When you see fuel at the loosened connection,...
Well it could be just moisture in the crankcase from rain or maybe a coolant leak. Have you changed the oil, is it milky/foamy? Do you have a loss of coolant. It could also be blow-by, which could...
There is a lawn and garden section for Fords, might get better response there.
Whats your next step?
If you rebuild the pump there is a "break-in procedure" with specified rpm for a period of time at no-load and progress to a pressurized for a specified time and test temperature to not exceed.
Excessive wear/clearance will allow oil to seep past and not be pumped as designed. How did you measure flow rate, was pump turning at the correct RPM?
Did you check the pump gear and end clearance when you replaced the seals the pump?
Have you checked the screen that sorta filters the oil? Some have been real ugly. Also I would suggest a pressure gauge to test system pressure.
Are you sure it is the pump and not a dirty screen/filter or low oil level or weak pressure valve. Could be just worn lift cylinder "O" ring.
Don't know about that particular engine but here is the standard for SAE bolts.
:confused2:Some times you just need to talk/write through the process to find your own solution!
Found it! I read up on relays and started from the end of the circuit and worked back. I found a broken wire between the brake switch and the brake relay. I was able to cut the wire and tape a new...
I just bought a Yazoo/Kees zero turn mower at auction. Everything was working but needed maintenance. I had to replace the bearings in the front caster wheels and one deck spindle. While waiting...
Did you get this solved? Did you rum out of fuel or have trash blockage? Start at the fuel tank and check for fuel flow. Work your way down to the filter and finally the injector pump. If you have...
Just set the drum in a nice sunny spot. Solar will dry it in no time and for free. By all means filter before use.
Do you have photos of the disassembled unit? I have not taken one apart yet. Are the bearings sealed or tapered roller?
Well I finally found a zero turn, used, that I wanted to buy. I couldn't spend the big bucks but wound up with a Yazoo/Kees Max2 with a Kohler Command Pro. I am having a little difficulty finding...
Is it gears or hydrostatic? What symptoms before it quit?
Whats wrong with the rims you have now with turf tires? Are the Ag tires a different size?
I use power service in mine. There is no difference in off road but you don't pay road tax and the red dye to mark where it is used.
You don't need to loosen the lines at the pump, that could introduce air in the line. Only loosen at the injector to bleed. I would not think you have trash in the lines if you have a good filter. ...
AJ you don't need to remove the lines, just loosen the nut at the injector to bleed air. Do you have a drain or did you remove the back cover? Did you check the spring on the pump cover for correct...
There should be an inspection port for the clutch. There is a drain hole under the clutch as well. Look to see if the oil is in/around the clutch. If the rear main is leaking by all means fix it. ...
It should be under the upper hose attachment to the head, the housing has a small hole to prevent airlock and should be cleaned out. Note drill bit in photo.
Or look here, New Holland...
I would take the nut off, remove the pulley and see what it looks like. You may be able to remove the side shield and repack the bearing or drill the rivets out, split and replace the bearing.
Hi gschones and SirReal63, Usually it is best to start a new thread when asking a question that is not related to the original poster's thread. Its called hijacking the thread.

Not sure if they are the same, but should be similar. The manual I have list 1300, 1500, 1700, and 1900. Most items are very similar.
Do you have a manual? Drawing attached, look at item 12.
There is still a bypass/pressure relief to prevent over pressure.
On my 1700 I took the shaft out of the transmission and used it as an alignment tool. It was just 4 bolts and a short shaft.
I would check the hydraulic fluid levels and condition. Second check the strainer/filter and clean as necessary. Third get a oil filled pressure gauge to test system. Fourth check the lift linkage...
Do you mean the injectors are not threaded????
I don't have any Ground Hogs around here, just Possum on the half shell, other wise known as Armadillos
They are talking about 2 different methods. If you use the sock over slotted drain pipe then it works like a reverse septic tank bleeder line. The wet will seep into the pipe and drain. With that...
Should be about the same as a 1700. Just unbolt the flange at each end. If you split the tractor, the drive shaft will separate, no pins in there. View this post for photos of a 1700, 1700 Engine...

I looked back at my photos and I am not sure about the drive shaft removal as I had the front axle pivot loose as well. Here are photos of each end of the drive shaft. The end in the drop box...
Sounds like a bad switch or bad wire.
I know a 1900 is not a 1700 but when I split my 1700 I did not have to remove that drop box. I removed the bolts in the collar at each end of the driveshaft and was able to remove the drive shaft.
My concern now would be that the coupler has 1/4 less engagement now. I have a 1700 and never had a problem, but I don't have a FEL
You mentioned adding 3/4 to the top. What about adding 3/4 under the top flange? How long is the slide on the pusher block? Make it as long as possible to spread the stress. Is the ram centered...

Just remember a Vise is not an Anvil!!!
Both Yost and Wilton are very good vises. I would lean toward Wilton in some applications due to the enclosed clamp screw. For other applications I would lean toward the Yost. I have both in a...
Yes there are 3 bolts, usually you just use a long extension. Have you considered just getting the starter re-built? As for which starter there are several depending or whether it is gas or diesel,...
Try this link from JC-jetro,
There is only 1 ground. Follow the neg battery cable to where ever it bolts to the frame/engine block.
Before I bought parts I would isolate the problem. I would disconnect everything from the starter, clean and replace only the battery leads. Check the battery connections and the ground connection....

Have you checked your transmission fluids?
No, but I want to.
I bought from Partspring.com. they had the best prices that I found but still high. Others swear by Messick's

The length of the clippings will have a big impact on how to bale. Short clippings will be difficult.

The hex with the purple band are diodes. See the + and - marks on the far side? Why, I don't know.
Oh my, it looks good as it is. Exposed metal just means it ha been used and not stored.

Without tooling to hold and control the cut, it might be better to take it to a shop that can do the job. If you do it yourself, wear a dust mask. The carbide dust is bad for your lungs.
Try onanparts.com for a parts source.
How are you holding the tooth and what type of grinder? Sharpening carbide would require either the "Green Wheel" or a diamond wheel. The green wheel will wear a lot in the process. I would...
When I rebuilt my 1700 there was 2 head gaskets in the full kit. They had different diameter for the piston hole but both the same thickness. I believe 1 gasket was for the 1500 and the other for a...
Get some dry ice for the axle and put the bearing in a can of oil, heated to about 175 degrees. Should just slide right on.
No such thing as down pressure. Try adding weight to the blower.
Once when chipping weld slag a piece popped off and landed just inside my nose! WOW, every time i touched it to get it out, it pressed deeper in the skin. That hurt for a while.
For a bumper pull trailer I prefer to use a hitch on the front of the tractor. Makes backing the trailer into a shed or barn a lot easier.
The flywheel is plenty thick and would be hard to warp from heat, it could wear unevenly. If it looked decent, I would take a wood block and some 180 sandpaper to scuff the glaze off it.
Check the front seal on the transmission while it is apart.
The diagram of the timing cover shows the cover is at least 2" thick and the water pump attaches with studs that go through to the block. If it were me I would remove the timing cover to access the...
JC, I think he is looking for a replacement housing for one that is cracked/broken.
