Yes when the seal on the hydraulic pump goes it dumps hydraulic oil in the engine.
I R&R the hydraulic pump on my 424 the Ag version of your tractor and it is easy. If you get the 10 GPM pump...
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that is hydraulic oil leaking that is likely gear oil on the B275.
Do you have sheeting (OSB or Plywood) on under the Hardee planks or sheets?
Ho high are you mowing? I use check chains when mowing our pastures to keep the power about 8" to 10" off the ground. The rocks here are like yours, but they do not cause any real damage to my Ford...
I use a 4.5" angle grinder with a flap wheel and it sharpens my Ford 917 knives great. Just don't over heat the knives (turning the steel blue).
Do you have a name or link to the product?
Will a wick applicator work for applying 24D?
I use check chains to keep mine cutting at about 8" in my pasture.
Chain Limiter Kit
Its looking good.
This is an addition on a current building and it needs to match.
I my Father in law had two buildings one was insulated and the other was not and it was unbearable in the non-insulated one.
Besides hay there will be horses and tack.
I really don't want to finish the inside for hay storage, but I may have too.
Do you mean between the OSB and the vinyl siding or on the inside of the OSB?
We are building a small pole barn for hay and horses.
I want to insulate it. The barn is going to be sheeted with OSB and then vinyl siding.
Should we put foam boards on before or after I...
My tractor is a IH 424.
Does a Kubota 4590 backhoe hookup to the tree point of a tractor?
Does it use a PTO pump or the tractor hydraulics?
The Explorer is working out good.
A load of white oak and there will be at least three more.
I know that the idler does not have a grease zerk.
I'll have to check on the bearing behind the too pulley, but I don't think there is one there either.
Mine had a single belt on it when I bought it and I used it that way for a couple of years. When I went looking for a "B" belt I could not find one locally. At Napa a got two matching "V" belts...
Do you have any pictures that show the details of the transition of the roofing from one pitch to another?
Flail master was very helpful and prompt with their shipping.
Do you plan to spray while mowing?
I bought a 917 back in 2010 for $100 and have used it since and I like it.
Mine has inverted T shaped knives three rows of 11 and cuts great.
I have a IH 424 tractor (about 35 HP) and it cuts...
Going 30" high will provide sixty some inches of level ground behind the wall.
The first row of pic here is what we used for ditch clean up and pulling new ditches back home in Montana....
For a 30" wall how far would you go between each deadman?
That's a slick idea.
Are you refering to concrete block for building or retaining wall blocks and do you have a link to them?
Here is a picture of where the wall will be built.
At 30" high the wall will give us plus 60" of flat space that will make it safer to mow.
The edge of the grass/plants is the...
Do you think 36" is ok?
I've thought of using 3' chunks of 4x4s or 4x6, but I also thought of using concrete blocks. With the blocks I would try to use chain (1/4" or 5/16") between the block and...
This one will only be about 30 inches tall.
A local yard has ground contact rated 2x8s.
How tall is your retaining wall?
If we used railroad ties how often would you run deadman back into the back doea a 35" tall wall?
I'm thinking of just putting the deadman in the row just below the top roll, but would they need...
Here is a short one we built out of 6x6s, but I'm hoping to keep the expenses low on this one.
We need to build a retaining wall 30" tall about 200 feet long along our pond. The wall would be to make it safe to mow and walk along the edge.
We are planning to use ground contact rated...
I do have some hills, but my tractor does weigh about 5,000 lbs may a bit more.
The mowing the guy with that JD 955 is about the kind of mowing I'm doing.
I try to mow our horse...
Are they finish mowers or rotary cutter/bush hogs?
Here are two of the 12 footers I was looking into.
TS12 Stealth | Rhino
I'm only interested in a pull type cutter not a three point or semi-mounted cutter.
All the 10 footers I have seen seem to be really heavy duty like for highway mowing/cutting.
Do you know a brand/model to seach for to find one?
All, I want a bigger cutter to clip pastures with and my tractor that only has 37 PTO HP.
I want a cutter with wings, so the mower can flex with the terrain. I know that some companies are making...
Where are you located at?
Unless I missed it no one has said to use the differential lock if the tractor has one. I differential lock keeps power to both rear tires rather than letting juse one tire spin.
That is slick!!!
I know my skill with a mini-excavator would have to improve a bunch before that would work for me. :(
What saw (size/cc's) are you using? It doesn't look like a big saw.
How do you like your 955?
Do you have a belly mower for it?
We aren't going to save the old roof we'll build a new roof.
The horses won't be in the barn much cause I'm to lazy to muck.
Here is a pic of the old roof and it shows the height we want the new roof installed at.
The current posts are about 7.5' from the building and we want to add 12' beyond that for horse stalls. ...
What is ww2 (double ribbed)?
I was kinda hoping to use standing seam metal roofing.
Metal Roof Panels - Standing Seam Roofing & Ribbed Roof Panel Systems
When we moved here in 2009 an existing out building had a shed roof with about 1.5" per foot with 2x6 trusses on 24" centers and it has been fine.
We are wanting to take the existing shed roof...
What is the least amount of pitch (inches of drop per foot) that is acceptable?
I live in South Carolina, so snow/ice loading is not much of an issue.
Is 1.5" per foot ok?
That's kind of what I thinking that the air movement would not be enough to keep the flies off them. A friend uses box fans I was looking for a better solotion, but oh well.
We are going to build a two stall barn/shed. We want to use a fan to keep the flies from bothering the horses.
Would an attic fan work?
Shop AIR VENT INC. Black Gable Power Ventilation at...
Can you show me how you did the two different roof angles with your metal roofing?
Ps it looks really cool!! :)
Maybe 5/16" would work.
Your work is cool.
I have wondered about a trailer jack before.
I was thinking a semi trailer landing gear and use the two speed box they have.
I was very happy with that truck.
Now I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to fix it or get rid of it.
My 97 GMC K3500 diesel died with +270K miles. I had to haul hay, so the V8 Explorer was pushed into service and it handled it like a champ. Its just 70 bales (50 Lbs each) and the trailer is just...
I run 90w gear oil in my 917. I may try 85/140w after I get the oil leaks sealed up.
Well I installed the new pump and filter and now my 3 point works great. The install was a bit of a pain to get everything lined up.
JJ, thanks for convincing me to add the filter. I appreciate...
My friend has a IHC 464 Tractor and the hydraulics will lift once or twice after first starting the tractor and then nothing (none of these work: power steering, 3pt and aux hydraulics). The...
Where do you get that slip hook from?
The return on my IH 424 is inside the cast iron reservoir where the three point valve is, so I don't think a return filter is a option.
I decided to order the 25 gal per minute / 25 micron filter.
These are the filters I am looking at.
3/4" NPT 9 GPM FA1112-25 SUCTION FILTER W/GAUGE 9 GPM at 25 microns
1-1/4" NPT 25 GPM ZINGA SUCTION FILTER 25 GPM at 25 microns
1-1/4" NPT 25 GPM 141...
JJ, what I'm understanding from your statement is to not to add another filter is that correct?
I bought a new hydraulic pump for my IH 424 tractor. IH did not put a filter on the 424 rather just a metal mesh strainer. I want to protect my new pump with a filter, but Surplus Center suction...
I did use Shoe not quarter round.
In the bathroom I wish we would have used the PVC shoe/quarter round rather than wood at least by the tub.
Yes it needs to be able to expand and contract.
I grew up in Montana and we buried lines deep like 6'.
I would NOT do less if you get below zero fahrenheit.
Pex may not break, but the fittings for pex do.
If you are asking me I want to use one to clip horse pastures and maybe even our lawn.
I'd buy a flex finish mower if they would cut say 7" high for pasture clipping.
The Woods 12' bushhog...
I have the Allure in Hickory in our basement and its great.
Why do you say prime the floor?
I was looking at all these 12' mowers and it looks like Landpride has the highest blade speed at 16,500 FPM.
How important is the blade speed?
Would a person notice the difference between...
What part number were the bearing you used?
Woods now has a 12' bushhog too.
I sharpen mine on the mower just set it on jack stands. It doesn't take to long that way.
What size are the square tubes that the Vibrashanks bolt too?
Ps nice job!
I love my 917.
Those knive are what mine has (three rows of 11) work great. They cut lawn grass, clip pastures and even do light bushhog type cutting.
I sharpen mine with a 4.5" angle grinder...
My 424 has a tee fitting at the flow control block and one of the tee ends there is a cap and I open it to bleed the air out with engine running. Make sure you cover cap with a rag and be ready to...
I sent off for a oil sample kit, so its a waiting game.
The fuel system on this IH 424 is gravity feed an therefore doesn't have a lift pump separate from the injection pump.
If it is #7 on 2nd pic then yes it needs to go to a injection pump shop.
What is mostly likely the cause of the engine oil level being over full (yes the oil looks diluted)?
1. Hydraulic pump seal leaking and allowing hydraulic oil into the engine.
2. Fuel system...
Would that still apply if one wanted to use the top link cylinder to dump a carry all?
Would the best thing in that case be to use a needle valve to have the flow when needed and be able to slow...
Can't help you with the leak, but could you tell me what adapter, part number and source you used to convert to a spin on filter?
Oil cooler can be a issue.
If one used a truck 4 speed or 5 speed the lowest ratio in 1st gear with a 4.10 rear axle the would be about 10 to one.
The setting that places the roller in its lowest position works good for lawn type cutting. I use check chains to setup for pasture clipping cutting at about 8". Yes the 917 is newer than the 907. ...
Jerry, I think that is a 917 rather than a 907. The floating lower link attachment points are a 917 feature (shown in your 1st pic).
PS I love my 917.
Dishpointer, what brand/kind of mower is that?
I want one.
Deer love soybeans or other type beans/peas aka black eye'd peas.
I think the oats will use the nitrogen.
I'm going to plant the soybeans in May. I'm trying for a double crop rotation, which is common in the South with wheat and soybeans. My father in law...
Well over the weekend I one bag of Urea 32 or 34 N on our oats.
I hope it was not too early.
What did you use to mix the concrete?
Ps the barn looks great.
Can you email them to me too.
Can you post which numbers from this PDF or picture that equal the parts that you are refereing to in your text?
See if the dealer will rent it to you.
