    Re: Honeywell Digital Thermostat

I'm only a little surprised at how much their absolute reading can be off. Many consumers prefer a lower price point, over absolute accuracy.

I am somewhat surprised that the hysteresis could not...

    Re: $10 USD For Mobil 1 !?!

Have you priced Schaeffers ? Good oil, and if you are buying volume it sounds like free USA delivery, from what I see posted on here.

Larger OD looks better. If wall thickness didn't go up, don't expect much of a gain in strength.

Budget-wise, that's why I got thinking of concrete - cheap way to add strength.

    Re: Honeywell Digital Thermostat

I'm with many in this thread.... given the # of months the temperature is below freezing here, I have no interest in opening up my furnace control to the web.

What I can see myself doing is using...
  88. Re: How well do shelter logic hold up in heavy snow areas?

Unless you don't have much snow/wind, buying heavy materials to start with is usually the better way to go.

Having watched this thread for a while (and having a friend go through a few light...

Interesting - over here I would not expect liquid cooling on a 2 wheel tractor; but I have seen enough of your work now to picture you adding your own liquid cooling if it was not original.

    I know...

Re: Compact Diesel trucks that we can't get here

When compared to most other Western countries, fuel taxes have historically been much lower in the USA.

Re: Compact Diesel trucks that we can't get here

Here, 90cents/L vs. $1.15/L for diesel.

Gas is down quite a bit at the moment, but there is more to it than that in the USA.... diesel pricing hasn't been allowed to drop below gas there in quite...

    Re: Age of trees

Under the right conditions, small trees can be surprisingly old.

Some of the small scrub evergreens were studied on the side of the Niagara Escarpment, west of Toronto. I don't recall the exact #,...

6 volt system - correct ? Nice big alternator and battery.

The white plug you show sitting on the left side of the panel - is that for supplying power to someting external to the tractor, or are...

    Re: Old engine oil requirements

Air-cooled no less..... Hondas are know as long running, but that is impressive.

What is striking about the C_ spec list on the previous page is the rate of change. At the bottom, those old specs...

The only form of reality TV I like is what we have on TBN here....

If Eddie Walker or WroughtnHarv start a new build, or ShieldArc finds a "new" welder, I'm glued to this screen.

    AIP Retail Diesel Fuel Prices

They are down to $1.43/L (Au $).

Even if they could get the 3/4ton at that price, most people could not afford the fuel in a modern 2500 for personal use.

  98. Re: Benefits of block heater even if engine start without one

I think the WSI spec is of most concern with immersion heaters.... you don't want to be boiling the oil. As long as the pad type is not creating an external fire hazard, they should be hard to get...

    You're welcome Barnie.

I'm thinking Watts per Square Inch. An important point to consider. My Dad tried a basic motor oil dipstick heater many years ago - low surface area combined with those old...
