Re: John Deere 4310 F5 fuse and PTO connection

The problem has been located and repaired. There were actually two problems. The first was a shorted Mid-PTO solenoid (causing the F5 fuse to blow). The other was a broken wire in the seat switch....

Re: John Deere 4310 F5 fuse and PTO connection

I think I just stepped into Bizarro-Land today. After checking out the PTO as described in an earlier post, I loaded the tractor on my trailer and took it to the work site. When I started it, all...

Re: John Deere 4310 F5 fuse and PTO connection

All, thanks very much for the advice. I purchased a new solenoid for the MFWD and replaced it. Quite a messy task I will say. The tractor now starts without blowing F5, the rear PTO engages fine...

A few minutes ago when I returned from work, I connected the solenoid lead and placed the MFWD switch into the engaged position. When I switched the ignition on, F5 did not blow. When I turned off...

Re: John Deere 4310 F5 fuse and PTO connection

Thanks Zebrafive, I will pursue those leads. As for #7, I disconnected the plug leading to the solenoids...right next to the solenoids, so there was only a pigtail coming from each solenoid.

John Deere 4310 F5 fuse and PTO connection

My 4310 has had an issue for a while now, but it appears to have gotten worse.

I have a John Deere 4310, E-Power reverser with mid mount mower deck powered by the mid mount PTO.

    1. When I...
  10. Re: John Deere 4310 blows fuze F-5 (ignition) when engaging mid mount PTO.

    Thank you...I will look.
  11. John Deere 4310 blows fuze F-5 (ignition) when engaging mid mount PTO.

It is hit and miss. I started it today and the mid pto started without blowing the fuze, but I noticed the rear PTO was turning at the same time. I turned it off and on a few times then it started...
