Dave's Tractor is a dealer and a former West Coast distributor, and perhaps the most Mahindra knowledgeable member of this forum.
My Mitsu made Mahindra came with UTF and that's what went back.
I think it was Dave's Tractor who said, the Mitsu made tractors should use hydro fluid. My 3016 Mitsu made manual says hydro. It came with hydro.
Your manual says hydro.
Classic Shell - Start menu and other Windows enhancements
makes it look more like win7. Been using it for years.
yup, leds all the way for me. I have an unheated barn and I hated having to wait forever to get much light at all in cold weather. Now it's instant on, even in sub zero F temps, and I have more light...
nice machine, nice work, love the 4way, but I'd have trouble calling it a 'compact' tractor. :D
Money, I'd guess.
When asked why men die before women, I say, "Because we want to."

yet another example of people spouting off and wanting us to give up stuff based on their ignorance.
some codes won't allow water and electric in same trench, if codes matter to you.
whatever machine you get should be appropriate for the work you need to do with it. You description of your needs point to a tractor.
My dad was a few months ago. He went down hill over the past couple of years. It was expected. Heart failure, deafness and blindness. Death was a relief for him.
I had to give the DNR order.
You sure do, and do so for many months later. I know they say time heals all wounds. I haven't had enough time yet.
Interesting read.... thanks.
This shows you know nothing about Ma laws, don't understand what the AG is doing and simply won't try to understand what is happening....like nearly all libs.
Ma has no law that prohibits open...
Some people like iT just don't think it's a big deal. After all the AG is just closing a loophole. Perhaps, he and others can understand the following analogies, borrowed from anther site:
no, couldn't go. I have an elderly parent at home who can't be left alone. I have to stay when she can't and she has to stay when I can't. I spread the word everywhere I could, and I support all the...
I have a 'few' firearms and this is my latest acquisition, the original assault rifle.

My 90 year old father died a few months ago. He was very forward thinking and over the past 10 or so years, put everything in my brother and my name, house, bank accounts, investments, gave me total...
this you do not want.
My brother had a skid steer for 20+ years. Wore it out and bought a tractor. He says he wished he gotten the tractor sooner...... More versatile for his needs.
Never had a bumper. My tractors have always had loaders on them. Grill guards behind the loader, yes.
The head of our largest advocate organization, the Gun Owners Action League (GOAL), stood on the steps of the State House and said, "The Freedom Trail starts here", pointing to a line on the ground...
any fuel to the carb?
My barn, not too old, not too 'glorious' in it's stature or history:
The Ma "assault weapons ban" was written and passed by the legislature, using the same wording of the federal 1994 'ban'. This was done in case the fed law expired, which it did. Since 1994, the Ma...
take the cap off the fuel tank and try running it that way. If all is ok, then the vent in the cap is plugged.
re: my 3016 tank
when the gauge says E, it won't take 5 gals.
it's supposed to be a 7.5 gal tank.
I think the gauges are messed up in a lot of them.
I have bought several items from them. Great products. I ordered one item wrong, called them and they were very helpful in immediately solving my problem, and even gave me a $ break on the item.
got room behind the seat for a couple ammo cans?
I removed my SSQ qa bucket on my 3016, and put on the qa forks and had no issue at all lifting 10 94 lb (940lbs) bags of cement on a pallet. I have no doubt I could put on a couple more. The fork...
before you buy anything else, check the battery cables at both ends. take them off, clean them up and put them back on. sounds like a cable problem to me.
use any oil you want, except synth.
Anything made today is better than what was around in 1948.
I use 10w-30 in all my old stuff.
I bought the dealer available one for my Mahindra as it was made to bolt on seamlessly and fit perfectly. I looked at others but the 'universal' versions just didn't suit my fancy... and weren't that...
doesn't LS offer one? Most mfgs do.
is it normal practice down there to drive tractors on divided high speed highways? Around here we can't do that.
do you know TBN member arrow from Foster?
check out near each rear wheel. My 3016 has a large housing around the gears that are at the end of the rear axle. There is a drain near the bottom of each housing....on mine anyway. Easy to miss.
My 28hp Mahindra will do 14 mph with R4's.
I bet yours wouldn't be much different.
As I said in post #41 above, I had the clamp on forks. There was nothing wrong with them. They worked just as you would want, strong and heavy. I wanted the ssqa forks I got simply for ease of...
good deal....you'll love it...it's a great machine...built by Mitsubishi with their diesel in it.
I don't know if this has been posted before but I found it cool!
I don't think any diesel could start any easier than mine..in any temp. Sometimes the starter doesn't even turn a whole turn before it starts.
check out the -9 F video I made. No...
I wasn't a ditty bopper. I wasn't that crazy. :) I heard you guys shouting out the dits and dahs every night while at Ft Devens.

my manual(s) say hydro fluid, it came with UTF in it. It's already in the rear because of the hst. Are you saying the hst/rear gears should not have UTF in it?
You do what you want but just don't...
that's what was and is again in mine. You have no problem with the rear end being lubed by hydro oil? All the hst's do it that way.
there is no problem using hydro fluid.
that's the only possible, logical, reason that has been posted here. I'll buy it. Everything else posted so far, nope.

I've had only 2 tractors over the past 25+ years. The first I had for 23 years approx. Both had BH and both had filled tires. I am not worried about my 2 year old Mahindra.
my 3016 doesn't have a seat switch.

i have old eyes.

I have both.

I remember seeing a Mitsu web page but I can't find it now.
As I remember it, the page I saw before was a UK page. There were several tractors listed that I compared my Mitsu built Mahindra to....
Check and clean the other end of the cables where they connect to the starter and Tractor
Mitsubishi makes them for themselves and other companies.
I've been through two of the worst winters we've ever had and never once thought that the R4's were inadequate.
I've done my gravel driveway many times and all kinds of other work, with just roughed up paint as the result. You must have gotten a bad one somehow.
what did you do drag it from Boston to Fla a dozen times?
A VT state trooper is telling you about Ma state law, and my 70 years here makes MY knowledge irrelevant. How about my son being a MA cop or is that irrelevant too?
Been here 70 years and never heard of it.
Whatever oil is available today is much better than whatever was available then.
Use whatever you want. I use 10w-30 in my Model A and Model T, and also used it in my '52 Harry Ferguson TO30..
When I did the complete change at 100 hrs, I found no evidence of any dirt, filings or anything but clean, brand new looking hydro fluid. The old stuff looked no different than the new stuff I put...
most new cars/trucks come with synth right from the factory, so i dont think synth is an issue at "breakin".
i changed the engine oil and filter at 50. Then at 100 i changed everything.
My 3016 has 2 hydro filters filtering the same fluid. I don't see any reason to change them at 50hrs.
a lot less than once a year if he's like the average user who puts on 50-100 hrs/year on a tractor that size.
I mentioned above, we can;t get it at the pump here, only this way:
Shop TRUFUEL Ethanol Free Fuel at Lowes.com
and I won''t pay that for real gasoline.
that's what i do too.
Maybe with today's crap fuels.
I guess many people here are too young to remember the days when gasoline simply evaporated and left nothing remaining.

How's it work with gloves on?
the 3016 also has a small o-ring on the top of the filter element which is real easy to overlook or let fall on the floor while taking the filter out. I wonder how many people lose them. At $175 to...
i got a bunch of hoses and fittings at TSC......cheaper than anywhere else around here.
John Deere service centers have a red dye made to be added to oil so you can see it on the stick. I put it in my Mahindra fluid. Now I can see it and don't have to guess.
