Re: 54 inch deck vs 60 inch 7 iron

My 54c does a great job. Can't tell the difference between my lawn and the neighbors lawn that is cut by pros with ZTR's.

Re: John Deere 445 MAP sensor possibly bad

Eric is right on. It should not have an air mass meter as the MAP sensor measures engine load. Along with fuel pressure be sure to check fuel volume. The tech manual is a good investment and costs...

Re: X720 Deck Adjustment Knob Won't Move

When removing the deck you should set the height knob to the lowest position, remove the deck, raise the draft arms all the way up then close the lock out valve.

    Re: X720 vs X740.

The diesel only has three or four more pounds of torque. My X729 uses about 1.2 gals per hour. Never a lack of power when blowing snow or using the loader. If I decide to mash the traveler to the...

Re: 20 to 40 Amp Retrofit???

If you go with a Curtis heater, it only draws 1.15 - 1.9 amps. They use a computer type fan. Their wiper draws 3.7 amps, max. If you install a dome light with a 1156 type bulb it draws 2.3 amps. A...
  9. Re: After market grappler/loader for X700 series

You could eliminate the need for a third hydraulic circuit by substituting the hydraulic cylinder with a 12v actuator for about $350 to $500

Re: X700 series model year changes

Up to 2010 they had a 6.5 gal gas tank. Starting in 2011 they went to 5.5 gal gas tanks to meet tier evaporative emmissions.

    Re: X724/744 and attachments

I modified the bracket, but did not have to modify the 4WS idler arm bracket. I shimmed the hydro to 1250 psi. Works great.

It's a minor interference with the rear steer bracket that has an easy fix.

Re: X595 or X748 whats your pick?

AWD over 4WD. For me nothing to think about. About the 7 iron. I have a 54c deck with 3 in 1 gators and my cut is as good as any lawn around me that is cut by pros with ZTR's. 4WS is a trip. When...

Re: How to rig an X595 to mow in reverse

I did mine last night. Took all of five minutes.
I find it is definetely safer without it. Now I can rotate my body to see directly behind me before I start to move backwards.

Re: How to rig an X595 to mow in reverse

In the video he is adding a wire to the existing two wires by placing the stripped ends under the terminal ring that crimps the insulation, making the process reversable in less than five minutes.
  19. Re: How the &%&#! do i get a 3.50-4.00 x 9 caster tire on the wheel?

I had to remove a tire on my MC519 cart. I put the bolt throught the center of the wheel then mounted the bolt in a vise.
  20. Re: Selling my X748 & 45 Loader for a new 1026R...is this dumb?

No money wasted here. My set up is working exactly as I expected. Part of the problem with loaders on X7's is 2 ply rear tires. Four ply tires would make the back end less squishy feeling on both...

Re: How to rig an X595 to mow in reverse

Lifting the RIO lever as you press the reverse pedal is second nature to me. That said, It could also be a distraction for some. If it were disabled, most would turn their head then press the reverse...

  25. Re: john deere x749 / 45 loader relief valve shim

You can shim the charge (implement) pressure relief valve. The minimum pressure should be 924 PSI. Mine was 950 and I shimmed to 1200 psi. If you consider doing this, be sure to check your pressure...
  26. Re: X700 series owners w/Gas engine, how's your fuel usage?

Re: How can i reverse mow with LX279

You will get used to it. My hand finds the pto switch without looking for it. The same way my foot finds the reverse pedal without looking for it. It will become second nature soon enough for you.

Lbrown is right, dollar for dollar, however I would never attempt to mow my slopes with a Scut. Higher CG would scare me.
