    It will take more than bushings to use Cat 1 implements on a Cat 2 quick hitch. The lower hooks on the cat 2 hitch are about 6 inches wider apart.

    I would dry them. I don't know if soaking in water will inactivate the oil, or if the water will evaporate, then the oil will still be liquid and can generate heat as it oxidizes. Why take a risk...

    If you decide to use this, make a frame like a gate, but stronger. Put in lots of cross supports, as chain link fabric will stretch and sag a lot if you are dumping in bucket loads at a time.
