I don't think any of the Professional Sports Players are paid enough.
Kinda like watching the Cowboys.
I'm all about salvaging/reviving the old. But I'd freak out giving 9K for it. If you can't steer it then you obviously can't start it up and drive it around. Not sure how you are going to be able...
And I wouldn't worry about buying a wheeled tandem disc a foot or two too wide. You can always carry it a bit until your tractor can handle it. In my soil your tractor would handle a 7 or 8 ft easy...
I agree with Rick. Run inexpensive hydraulic oil and you'll be fine. No magic going on in there. :)
And the better part of the gear equation is you can do it with the engine at idle. You don't have to guess what range is appropriate for the job either. :)
P.S. Soybeans. :)
Murph and I are very good friends. He is as far from a Troll as you can get. I was just teasing him because someone else called him a retarded troll. I can not defend him in regards to being...
Here Murph. Give you something to look at so you can get your mind off being a Troll.
Part of my friend's harvesting operation.
Yeah me too.
Not sure. I don't research Kioti failures. Although some posters on this thread actually believe this is all a big conspiracy. :)
We all use/stress our equipment in different ways. Some users...
My 3910 does that as well. Especially hiccups after a few hours of field work to heat up the fluid. Total separate issue from your other problems, but certainly something to correct while you are...
Yeah, but you are a retarded Troll..... ;)
You'd hafta answer CalG's question first to answer that.
Either the design for keeping the fluid cool under heavy load failed which overheated the...
A very close example would be a hydraulic shuttle with torque converter. They've been used on construction equipment for decades.
Not counting my opinion, I can't answer that.
Kind of a chicken/egg question isn't it?
Either way, the tractor failed. It's my "opinion" the failure is in design, not abuse by...
All good andwers to the 4 cross chain concept. Most primary reason is to control lateral movement of the load. One chain looped thru clevis does nothing to control that. Construction equipment...
If you let my 3910 idle with shuttle in neutral, trans in 4th, you'll swear it's flying apart. Even had a fellow TBN member call me and visit on the phone about his doing the same thing. Sometimes...
Welcome to TBN Lund2002.
There are definitely some adjustments that can "sharpen" the cut. Speed is a factor as well. Post some pictures of the cut if you can.
I agree with FatTire.
My Son works for a Tow Service. In Missouri it's 4 chains required to secure the tractor. For example, driver's side front chain binds to the passenger side front of the...
Truer words have never been spoken Rick. :D
Good stuff Rick. I try to pay close attention when you post concerning these situations.
There's a small few members here that have vast Ford knowledge. Rick is one of them.
Not being personally familiar with your tractor line-up I'm not sure how to answer this.
I'm pretty sure your BX2670 has an electrically activated Hydraulic System PTO. The clutch pack is...
My large farmer friend is sixty, second generation. He has two Sons and a Daughter. He's trying to step back and let them take on more responsibility. I was in their office visiting a couple weeks...
Sometimes that's a struggle......
Yep. As my Dad would say, "What this requires is a high level of maturity". :)
Well written. Simply not true. The Tractor's PTO clutch system failed. Not even functioning well enough to display overload at the engine. My 32 year old Ford will bog down and stall the engine...
Yep, I read that a few years ago. My M9540 has Titan wheels and tires. I have no complaints. I was researching Titan in regards to our Township purchasing a new Road Grader with Titan tires.
I think in the smaller tractors Kubota's FEL capability generally exceeds the tractor's ability. I used to have a B2910, luxury version of the B7800. Great little tractor. But still a little...
Yeah, that was my point to you. Your tractor doesn't jave the capability to exceed your FEL's ability.
Yeah, mine are Titan and I'm sure painted by Titan.
Since you seem to have it figured out, what percentage of the government Farm Bill dollars go to Farmers?
I could write a lengthy response explaining the various USDA programs and their purpose...
The cutter worked flawlessly.
Using my Grapple I can get your tractor on no tires. :)
In this environment it's very common to see an owner use his tractor at a level unimaginable by others. It's also common for posters to claim no issues with theirs. Is it possible that maybe the...
I hear ya James. I know you as well as can be done in this environment. I understand where your knowledge exceeds mine by miles. I'm trying to catch up, but it'll take awhile. :)
A very good friend of mine is a very large farmer. Plants app. 25K acres of corn/beans each year. His motto is "they ain't making anymore land, buy, don't sell". I'll die owning my little piece of...
Now that requires humbling oneself to the point of admission of inadequacy. I struggle there.
I'll just sit back and listen. I pick things up easily. Although I'll never know a tenth of what...
Yeah, I definitely like my M series.
I'm only slightly jealous of "sixdogs". Love watching him spend money though!!!! Go for it!!! :D
You guys make me feel so inadequate.................. I have no idea what you are talking about...................:ashamed:
But I know enough to know this is a very cool setup.
Way to ruin it for me..... :D
See you found us on the Missouri Roll Call thread. Welcome!!!!
Urban sprawl. Acreage owners that do not claim "farmer" status on their taxes. Understand, your data comes off the tax records.
No farmer I know retires and keeps 40-80 acres for a hobby. If...
Dang it,,,,, I'm slightly below average at 170 acres...... :(
It can be.
I get a lot of flack for saying this, but that's okay..... My FEL on my M9540 is a beast and has withstood extreme use. I can adjust my bucket "level" simply by applying a load to...
Yep, another good story.
I don't as much has been asked of a generation since then. Hope we don't have to test that theory.
Based on your post, I think you drained a cavity thT has a separate fill. You've overfilled something and starved something else.
Hopefully with some patience someone will post with some...
HEY,,, I've been cordially defending gears. :)
Sorry my friend, I took no pics. It's a Westendorf (Iowa company). I'll take some pics tomorrow. :)
I'd be hard pressed to name a single function it performs without input from a computer. Maybe honking the horn?
Thank you for the honesty.
Have saw that for years in regards to Kubota tractor wheels.... They fade MUCH faster than the rest of the tractor. :)
My stand is I lastly pay attention to brand. In this thread I've not given it a second thought.
WOW,,, 32 below zero 100 miles from the Mexican border???? I had no idea...
You realize your vehicles operate by a computer right?
I spent today repurposing a wagon running gear from a sileage wagon.
Bcrouse, I have 3 on my Kubota and use them all. Have 2 on the Ford and wish for a 3rd.
Will admit I've never wanted 4 on the Kubota.
Generally you will work the right side harder than the left due to controls location.
Nice. Very clean.
Sad that a dealer had to make that alteration to fix corporate's stupid design.......
I have NO faith that Kubota will address this. Problem is a very small percentage of...
James, all this technology has it's place. In that place it's extremely valuable. We ALL use it daily. Whether we realize it or not is debatable.
Glad your ordeal worked out.
As a sign of...
Don't tie what I'm about to say to the OP's problem. He definitely had a poorly constructed FEL.
I can make my FEL bucket sag 1/4" either way at will. Simply hook one end of the bucket under an...
That's a workable fix. By offsetting the 3pt lever they put the lateral problem we discussed earlier on one lever rather than three. I like that much better than shortening and moving forward.
I agree. Should experience engine overload before PTO clutch slippage.
So what car/truck do you own/drive daily?
Thank you for the very well written description of the problem. Clearly a design issue to me. Under built.
Glad you found a solution.
Thanks again for the update.
I'll get some pics today.
DJ54 nailed it. Research indicates it's powered thru a rubber hose. So simple an idea that it never crossed my mind :)
My favorite equipment has a seat....
Wife's GC has backup camera. It's pretty cool. I am trying to not get addicted.... would cost me tens of thousands of dollars to add to my ole farm truck.... :)
I hear ya. I just hope my ole truck runs long enough for the new ones I like to be cheap enough I can afford one.......
Nice Avatar Murph. Jeez, now I gotta change mine.........
Just quit posting. :D
In comparison to 20 year old stuff, my 17 year old Super Duty has many fine features, AC, cruise, pwr seats, pwr windows, pwr mirrors. All of which I use regularly. Don't need no heated seats,...
I'm a "factory fit and finish" guy too. I added two rear remotes, FEL 3rd function, and dual PTO to my M9540. All with Whole Goods Kubota kits. I did that to get quality, easy to use systems. I...
Well stated Brian. I totally agree. Pretty sad though. You and I feel a personal responsibility to do it right. These people do not. They just want paid..... :(
Great pics groundcover!!!!
There's gotta be a story behind these pics. I notice the "tag" on the RTV says firefighter. Are you cleaning forest or what??
Also, is that a military trailer??
I've watched two movies in the last couple yeasr that impacted me (militarily) heavily. First was American Sniper. Second was Lone Survivor (might have the name wrong, might be Sole Survivor). ...
Bummer. That is not a good thing...... Not bashing Kioti in any manner,,,,, but that's not good!!!! Should kill the tractor. :(
I was just given a Garber Seeder. PTO driven. Equipped with the fixed drawbar bracket for mounting to tractor. Nothing to connect the PTO shaft (8 spline) on the seeder to the PTO shaft (6 spline)...
I should have read on down. Coobie, you beat me to it!!!
My wife's Grand Cherokee has heated steering wheel!!!!! :D
Yep, I thought of that alteration. I did that to my trans range lever on my Kubota to make it more accessible.
In your case, this moves the knob forward. Will it now be too far forward for...
David, "chaff" is a great term for it. Hadn't heard that before.
I often wonder how much different things would be without rotary wing aircraft. Think about all the variations we have discussed...
Only having the pic to view, it looks lile swapping those two would put all three knobs in the same space.
I also understand the concern about bending all three. If you put too much lateral bend...
Yep, you guys have been getting hammered!!!
Glad your dealer fixed your problem with little drama!!!!
I wouldn't go for cutting the 3pt lever.
I'd bend the remote levers, all to the left, eliminating the interference.
Hope you both find a solution.
Usually swapping out a ram isn't that difficult. Might take a bit of studying to see how it's held together. Some screw in but most are held with a snap ring of some kind. I'd start with...
This must be a common problem. Hopefully it is a small batch of bad loaders.
Sorry your new tractor story had to start with this. Hope it's all smooth sailing from now on!!!!
I hear ya.
I wouldn't want gear drive on my lawn mowing tractor. I wouldn't want HST on my 95HP tractor.
Oh wait,,,,, I think I said that already...... :p
I've got both so I'm in the delirious crowd!!!!! :confused2:
You just had to bring up "stumps" didn't you.... ;)
I would have rooted it out of the ground with my Grapple and carried it away. Saved the trip back to the shed to change attachments.... :)
Yep. Not being overly intelligent, I'm not sure why that is?? Must be improved technological design and assembly??? Seemed the HP rob and heat issue was always too much to bear years back.
Welcome to TBN.
This is a delicate debate with each side having strong feelings about the other side's lack of talent and knowledge concerning tractors. You have definitely stated your...
Here it is.
The Man In the Doorway
They came in low and hot, close to the trees and dropped their tail in a flare, rocked forward and we raced for the open doorways. This was always the worst...
Wouldn't want to stand near him during a lightning storm huh!!!!!!
I've got a poem that would reflect his Vietnam service, I'll try to find it.
Oh you won't die "on" it. Laying beside it maybe. :)
You are only as old as you feel. :)
So how much reverse pedal is needed becomes an experiment based on how steep the incline. James and you both have stated that.
My two gear tractors have wet disc brakes. One power assisted, one...
Sorry for the loss of your friends Dick. Great picture. I've never saw one.
I've flown in Huey, Chinook, Blackhawk.
I agree. I like the predictability of my Hydraulic shuttle 12spd gear drive 95HP tractor.
