    The 3.8 is a minivan engine, the 3.6 replaced it. The 3.6 is to new to be proven durable.

    The 4.0 was replaced with the 3.8 minivan engine, then in 2012 MY the 3.6 Pentastar replaced that.

    Thats exactly what I want - a 4.0L. Not a fan of the minivan engine they replaced it with, and the 3.6L Pentastar is too new and unproven.

    Totally agree. Toyota has a huge advantage over everyone because if their entire fuel efficient line up. They may not sell the most trucks, but it is solid reliable well packaged machine.

    The oil gets passed through the pcv system, plugs up pcv system, starts using oil.

    The high mileage units seem to all suffer from it.

    I thought the F150 had EPS? Thats how the rear trailer assiat works, no? The 5.0 is solid, but all of our Ford dealers suck. The local Toyota dealer is excellent.

    AFM is GM's cylinder deactivation called Active Fuel Management. Still a gimmick with no real savings. But can turn in to a nightmare and consume/burn oil.

    EPS is Electronic Power Steering.

    Have you ever pulled a valve cover to see if you have a sludge build up from longer OCI? Bets Toyota set 5,000 for a reason, could be timing chain related, could be a guide issue.

    You cannot compare the two. Tractors are geared much lower, so you can get more done more efficiently with lower hp & torque.

    The duramax now puts out 440hp/910 foot pounds.

    Additives such as Howes or Kleenflo do two things , they add lubricity to the fuel and prevent freezing.

    Your Kubota UTV uses a hydrostatic transmission, it's NOT a CVT.

    The Fendt Vario is the Pioneer example of a CVT, and it's the only clutch less version. All others like JD & CNH use clutch...
