Re: Ventrac 4500 vs Steiner 440

To me diesel is just easier to store and dispense as compared to gasoline. While I have easy access to off-road diesel I still buy the low sulpher as it seems to burn cleaner. I use a couple of 55...

Re: Ventrac 4500 vs Steiner 440

Excellent post and a good example as to why low hour drives are a lot stiffer and noisier than high hour drives. As the rear pump wears the front pump doesn't bypass nearly as much. Also a good...

Re: Thumb Grapple on slip scoop

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions with respect to this project. I have attached pictures incorporating changes

Moved the mounting bracket forward 1-1/2" on the bucket lip. Welded it...

    Re: Quick, but fuel thirsty.

No shifter safety pins on the 4100 / 4200 tractors I own. There are detents that need to be engaged. Generally can shift on the go once you get the hang of it. I'm surprised that Ventrac has not...

    Re: Another New Bee issue?

It's a hefty implement. A half pound difference in tire pressure can cause the deflection. I use a digital gauge, however using the Ventrac specific pressures and implement weight it's hard to get...

    Re: Quick, but fuel thirsty.

Were you running in high range or low? If running in low the HYD drive motors will increase your fuel consumption almost 2X. High drive does require a bit more force on the control lever when on...

Re: Thumb Grapple on slip scoop

Thanks for the reply. I worked it both ways. Less stress on the bucket lip. I was looking to avoid reinforcing the bucket. Does require some additional HYD hose. I should have noted the cylinder...

Re: Thumb Grapple on slip scoop

    Jack,
It is close. I'll likely solve that problem by moving the mounting bracket forward an inch. I'll use a couple of pieces of 1/4 x 4" plate under the lip of the bucket to extend the lip 1 1/2"....

Re: Thumb Grapple on slip scoop

    Thanks!

I purchased the 20" grapple which fit perfectly on the bucket lip using the 5/8 bolts supplied. The lip of the grapple just touches the leading edge of the bucket.

    Valve came from...

    Thumb Grapple on slip scoop

Ventrac has introduced a new Power Scoop with Grapple option. They have only made it available for the 4500 series, so I elected to install a "Thumb" grapple on my older Slip Scoop. By using...

Re: Ventrac 4500 vs Steiner 440

I have both the Side and Rear discharge 60" Ventrac mowers. I have lots of steep slopes as well as a 22 degree lake dam that I mow. I prefer the rear discharge as it is a bit lighter, is easier to...
  13. Re: Help! My front yard is kicking my butt! Bushhogging uphill

Call your local Ventrac dealer for a demo. The Ventrac Dual tire 4000 series tractor will solve your problem. I also maintain steep slopes on my farm in GA. Have a Kubota 2910, but never felt safe...

Tiller Re: Tillers; Why buy anything but County Line?

I've had a 5 foot Bush Hog for 19 years. Tilling GA clay. Replaced the tines a couple of times but that's it other than routine maintenance. I use it about 20 hours a season.

Buying Advice Re: need a flail mower

I have a JD 25A / 78" cut. Nice for mowing fence lines and around trees as it extends beyond the right rear wheel about 12". It works well behind my Kubota 2910 / 30HP. If you don't have a FEL you...
