A backhoe can also be used as a tow truck.... lol
Drilling 3/4 holes in steel is done easiest with a good quality hole saw in my experience.
E series tractors are typically lower feature tractors. Less electronics and such.....
I modified my blade to have hydraulic angle.
As mentioned above you can add a cylinder to offset the blade. Sometimes I do that but for most of the projects I do the stock offset link is in place. My favorite modification...
Hard to do things like that now with all the plastic in the bumpers.... [emoji45]
KB9UDE here. Name is John. I had to sell all my equipment in a nasty divorce but am starting to look at equipment again. I had a Diamond X500HNA dual band antenna at 60 feet on 7/8 hard-line....
Shingles are not made of the same quality that they used to be. I recommended steel roofing but that may or may not suite your style. There are several styles and quality of steel roofing also.
Not sure how well you can see this but there is a smaller tractor trying to pull the tongue of a grain cart back down. Hitch pin must have come out after the cart was loaded
Update on the oversized garage being moved on a gooseneck trailer in central Illinois. It did finally get moved another 15 miles or so down the highway. It is parked in the owners back yard on the...
The garage is still sitting there along the road. I have not heard any more info yet. I will keep you updated when i hear more. Truck and trailer are still there as well....
Yes there needs to be permits, oversized load sign, flashing amber lights, escort vehicles, and if i am not mistaken a load that wide needs a police escort also.
Not sure how far this garage traveled before it was pulled over. I was heading home from church and saw this about noon today. Its still sitting there tonight.
I have a JD 3320 with the 72" auto connect drive over deck. It is an awesome machine.
I am still considering the truck. We had a death in the family and I have been busy.
I will be sure and post an update if and when I buy the truck.
Thanks for the info guys.
I am looking at a 1 ton dually with a dump bed. It has the 6.5 diesel with 99k miles. Seems to be in good shape. Any thoughts on this model of truck?
I had a 3 bag unit on my 2320 years ago. It was nice but sure didn't take long to fill with a 62" deck. I felt like I was stopping to dump very often.
If you are using the 3rd SCV on rear of the tractor to raise the deck make sure the T bolt on top of the valve is screwed all the way down.
There is no comparison in these machines. The GX345 is much more machine any way you look at it.
Hi Tim. Welcome to TBN. Sounds like the snow is coming today.
I wanted to say hi and congratulations on earning your General ticket.
Yes there are adapters out there to convert deere quick attach to bobcat hookup. I don't have any more info but if you Google it a bit you will find information. Other members should have more...
I asked the same question about a year ago and ended up with a 485 Deere backhoe for my 4720 cab tractor.
Thanks for the information.
If anyone is looking for a blade like this there is one listed in the private party ads. It is the green Frontier 84" model.
No I did not remove any plates from the 4720.
Anybody have knowledge of this situation ?
As you all probably know, I have been forced into selling most of my equipment due to my wife leaving me. As stated before I will be back in the tractor buying mode once this is over. I recently...
I would like opinions on how well Uhaul trucks are maintained. There is a 26' box truck at a local uhaul dealer for sale that I could buy for $8500. It has somewhere around 230k on it. I think...
I would keep the mower a foot or so off the ground and just drive!
I have done it for years on all sizes of tractors and never had a problem.
Welcome from Tower Hill, IL :)
I have a 6 foot Frontier RC1072 and a JD MX6. Both have been great mowers.
We will be praying for you! Let us know the outcome of your tests.
I have owned 2 JD 4120's. Both were great machines!
I transported the 4720 with backhoe back to my place tonight. Hopefully in a few days I can get some playtime in.
More rain this weekend! :mur::smiley_aafz:
The rain just keeps coming!
It's going to be a long week waiting for dry weather.
We had another 2 inches of rain here in the past few days... Its gonna be a bit before I get to play with my new toy.:confused2:  :smiley_aafz:
Most likely this tractor still has the "old style JD" couplers. I would look into converting to a ISO tip or you can buy adapters.
Parker/Pioneer Hydraulic Adapter John Deere Male To New Jd And...
I use John Deere Imatch quick hitch.
iMatch™ Quick Hitch (option)
I think it is going to be a worthwhile investment. I had a 448 on a previous 3320 tractor. It has been missed ever since I sold it.
Thanks Martian. Thats supposed to be my dads new workshop but my barn filled up with "toys" and so I moved some over to his building...
I have been extremely blessed and now have a 485 backhoe on my 4720. Here is a few "before and after" pics. I can't wait for next week. Hope it doesnt rain too much...;)
God is so good...
I bought a 2011 Sportsman 400HO last year. I have been pleased with it.
I had a 5203. They are great tractors. Sounds like a deal to me. Go for it!
Is the creep to reposition option available for the 2010 year model tractors ?
I would like to know if the Deere 485 backhoe or Woods BH90x backhoe would be a better choice for the 4720 cab tractor. Does anyone have a cost for the woods backhoe?
Roy- The "tire kickers" were 2-3 states away. Deere is running some awesome finance deals so it makes selling that new of a "used" machine tough to sell.
I do a variety of work from mowing and spraying to some serious dirt and rock work. I have an area that I service which can involve 3 hours of travel one way. The amount of area and type of work I...
I have been trying to sell my 8 month old 3320 and 72D Autoconnect deck. There has been several people interested but all have been far away and don't want to drive here for it. I also have a 2010...
But I know HOW to take the loader off as I have had several JD CUT's and I was asking if anyone with a CAB had done the removal. It looks like the loader arm may come very...
I have a 4720 CAB tractor. Does anybody have experience removing the loader? It looks like it may come close to the glass but have not attempted removal yet. Looking for any experience with this...
You should be fine in "normal" grass cutting conditions.
Here is the link with pics when I had an x720 striping kit.
How deep in the concrete do you bury the pipes? I am looking at doing a job requiring heat in the floor and was not sure if it was to be laid on the insulation board or suspended in the concrete??
I have some experience with a RFM and will be facing the challenge of using my 4720 cab tractor for finish mowing areas I previously used a 3320 OS with MMM on. I have to try and sell the new 3320...
Where did you trade? I have been looking for a 2 or 4 row planter...
TRUE! Thanks Chris...
Has anybody ever removed a pair of axles from a 7000lb trailer and installed 10,000 lbs worth of axles?
I would like to see a map of members on this website that want to be shown so we can have an idea where some people live.
I have met one member in person. A few others that are close to me have sent me PM's and we email.
I guess I am exempt from this chart. I am 6'6" 310lbs but most people don't consider me fat...
My dads farm is on Ameren. They said since it was anything but another "house" then the minimum was around 40 a month for second meter. We decided to run from the existing meter instead.
What electric company are you on? We put in electric for a new outbuilding at my folks farm and it was going to be a 40.00 monthly minimum for the second meter....
We ended up...
I really like the 3x20 and 4x20 cabs. It really is worth the money. I would get the cab tractor.
Drive over decks are great! I have one on my 3320.
I'm a few hours south of you. Good to see another member on here from Illinois.
The x700 series offers a wide range of deck sizes from 48" to 62" however if you get a 60 inch 7-iron deck it has the ability to drive the tractor over the deck for easy removal and install.
BTW, sorry to hear about your loss...
I would guess it is worth around 25k. Maybe a bit more to the right buyer. A local John Deere (or other) dealer could possibly sell it for a small fee.
YES I was also referred to as a "NEW" member...
Yes sure did. I was confused till I saw this thread...
I figured it probably was a widespread email.
You need an ATV for the wet areas.
CB is how I got started in radios. I then moved to Ham radio about 12 years ago. Its a great way to communicate and find new friends in your area with similar electronics and other interests.
I thought it should be a 14 30 also but it does appear to be a 20. I will stop by a dealer today and check it out.
I don't know for sure. I am setting up for a friend. I have never seen the unit in person. I will go to the dealer in the morning to check one out.
Here is the manual link for a 8010 generator....
I am supposed to wire up a generator cord for a friend this week. The 30A 240v plug in this pic doesnt look like my twistlock L14 30. The best I can tell it may be a L17 30 receptacle?? Does...
I am a larger guy and the air seat is so much better for me than the standard seat. I would recommend it. My 3320 has the standard seat and the 4720 cab has air seat.
Does anyone know if I could mount my 72D drive over deck on the 4720 cab tractor?
Sounds like a bad Ground connection to me.
A larger AG tractor would probably have a pintle type hitch option. Our large Deere farm tractors have a clevis hitch for puling large implements.
See this page for an example.
The Frontier brand I mentioned is also made by Woods.
I have a 7 foot Frontier finish mower and it works very well.
They are avaliable thru your John Deere dealer.
I bolted mine to the carry-all. You could do as shown above and make it removable. I will just buy more carry-alls for other implement projects.
Sorry to hear this. We will be praying for you and your family.
We will be praying for him.
Boom is 10ft. Spray width is 12ft.
Yes I have a pump power control by the seat on right side fender.
Sprayer works very well! Very useful for spraying roundup on large areas.
Still waiting on that rain...:(
The cab is very nice to have. I used to do this on an open station tractor and it was no fun at all.
