    What snake is this?

I'm in central Ohio and this guy is living in the foundation of the house. He comes out to sun himself in the afternoon. From looking online, I think he may be either a milksnake or a water snake, but we're about a quarter-mile from the creek. Can anyone help?

    Very old barn beam help

I live in a pre-1866 barn repurposed (badly) into a house. The original hand-hewn hickory beams form the 'bones' of the house--some still have the bark on them. I want to highlight them without altering their nature (I.e., no sanding, no gloss, etc.) Right now they just look dirty and dry...

    Palmer sander backer pads--replacing?

Hi, I have a whole shelf of palm sanders that I can't use because the rubber backing pad has worn too thin. The replacement backer pads cost almost as much as a new sander! I've been trying to figure out how to make my own, using mouse pads--the heavier ones. Has anyone done this and have...

    What is this?

I found this in some tall grass. It's not that old, and seems to be meant to drag behind a tractor--but for what reason? Are you supposed to put weights on it, or does it just bounce along on the surface? What's it called? Thanks for any help!

What can I do with my tractor? And what tires?

I have an old Craftsman lawn tractor, 22.5 hp, 50" deck, with a ball hitch on the rear. 1). Besides mowing, what can I use this for? Can a machine this size do any harrowing, plowing, etc? I never seem to see any drag behind type accessories on Craig's List. I do pull a great 10' wagon...

    Hi, and not much else

Hi, I'm a little old lady who lives on five acres in Alexandria, Ohio, with chickens, horses, dogs, and an ever-decreasing supply of raccoons. I have an old Sears Craftsman lawn tractor, 22.5 hp, 50" cut. ("it's not a lawn mower, it's a micro-tractor!") I'm a Navy vet, single and looking...
