    Field fittings in wrong position

Putting back the hoses for the FEL. I had new hoses made up with the old field fittings. Trouble is that 2 or 3 of them have fittings facing the wrong direction so that I have to twist the hose to get them on. Can these be turned without removing the hose completely?

    Stihl MS250 chainsaw service

Last autumn I did my own service on the saw but I have been wondering if I might have missed something. I did once take it to a Stihl dealer for a service but it wasn't cheap. Can anyone give me a list of things that Stihl would probably do in a routine service, so that I can be sure I am not...

    135 What is this filter?

There are 3 oil cooler filters listed in the parts book: The first doesn't mention that a cooler is in some cases not fitted (up to SERIAL NO. 85531). Element 191855M4 The second mentions cooler sometimes not fitted (from SERIAL NO. 85531) Element 1862918M91 The third also mentions cooler...

    Massey 135 Fuel Tank Line

If you can let me know the number(s) on the diagram of the parts you want to have the part number for, I can look them up. But as I don't know your serial number/year, I can't be certain I have the correct 135 parts book open for your tractor. By the sounds of it you need access to the AGCO...

Earning money with a 4' bucket?

There are some big projects going to start around here next year....a new airport and runway and a couple of large resorts one with a golf course. Plus there may be smaller jobs around here as I know I have paid for a bobcat and driver in the past more than once. I've looked into the state red...

    Steering wheel removal

My steering wheel has a big chrome nut in the middle. To remove this, do the wheels need to be on full lock? Thanks

    Anti-clockwise or clockwise meter?

Due to a mix up of the parts listing I ordered an anti-clockwise meter (from the other side of the world), but got a clockwise. Will a clockwise meter work where the original was anti-clockwise?

Best angle for spool valve work hose fitting for FEL?

I'm replacing all of my FEL hoses due to age. The two hoses which operate the bucket cylinder come off at 90 degrees from the top of the spool valve (which is a bit lower than the boom pivot point) and then run horizontal along the top of the loader boom. There is no excess hose at the moment to...

    FEL wont stay up

Hi, After rebuilding the power steering pump and cylinders, I raised the tractor up on the FEL to get the air out of the p/s and the tractor sunk back down straight away. As the FEL goes up fine, if a bit slowly, is the cause likely to be the FEL cylinders? They aren't leaking externally. Thanks

    Power steering with Vaseline?

Hi, I'm rebuilding my power steering cylinders (MF 135 cylinders on an MF 240) and a mechanic told me that I should apply Vaseline to the internals. Is this advisable or is it just a rural myth grown credible through the re-telling. Also can I use lithium grease instead? Thanks

    135 steering cylinders and hoses

Just bought a 240 which has 135/148 power steering cylinders. I would like to keep them if I can. Someone welded the rods to the ends instead of using pins. Got one off cleanly, but not sure about the other one yet but am doubtful. Anyone know if the rod (10 on diagram) 1749716M91, is...

    Karcher sand blaster attachment

Recently bought a 1979 MF240 and have started to restore her. Have been trying out my new sand blaster attachment which works really well (ordinary household Karcher pressure washer). Didn't know such a thing existed until I came across it on the net. It's quite slow going and doesn't take...

Non standard steering pump? on MF240

Hi, Can anyone help me identify the make and model of this pump? The standard pump is I think, a round Cessna type. This one is more like an inverted A shape and I guess it must have been aftermarket. It's leaking so I would like to try and get an overhaul kit. Thanks.
