Why 3 lines for the backhoe attachment?

    Ha ha…I did. Fat fingers…

Why 3 lines for the backhoe attachment?

And on the new loader valves, this is the power beyond?

Why 3 lines for the backhoe attachment?

So it is the last in line on the series then, correct? Aka the return.

Why 3 lines for the backhoe attachment?

And lastly, here is what’s on my 2638 now. The input/supply line they have T’d off to feed the backhoe. The very bottom line is what I believe needs to go to the port at very back of tractor as circled in pic above. Very different setup to what’s on the latest 2638’s.

Why 3 lines for the backhoe attachment?

Is what I have circled below the “return line”? In the valve picture above, the bottom-most line goes directly to this place at the back of the machine. Is this what supplies hydraulic pressure so the 3-point hitch can function? My current 2638 runs through the backhoe and then through the 3rd...

Why 3 lines for the backhoe attachment?

Here is a picture of the latest greatest valve. The lines coming from tranny area go directly into this valve assembly.

Why 3 lines for the backhoe attachment?

Well I went to my Mahindra store and lo-and-behold…they changed the loader valve again on the 2638! Couldn’t believe it. On the 2638 I have in my building right now, there are two lines that come off the right side of the tranny. On my setup these hard lines go to an intermediate plate and on...

Why 3 lines for the backhoe attachment?

I gotta get my head wrapped around this. Consider the standard loader valve. You have 1 that feeds it with “supply” pressure, 4 that go to loader functions, one power beyond, and one back to tank, right? The power beyond is simply a “pass through” supply pressure line, right? If that’s a correct...

Why 3 lines for the backhoe attachment?

I’m installing the backhoe on my 2538. Why three lines? I believe one is a relief line going back to the tank but why is this needed? If this is an open center system with everything in series, seems there is already a relief line at the loader valve. So why that 3rd line?

    Mahindra 2638 Factory Backhoe Hydraulics

You ever find an answer? Curious about this myself.

    Backhoe options for 2538

I’m sure the factory backhoe kit includes a subframe mount. I’m sure you couldn’t even put any backhoe on without it and that it’s job is mounting and reinforcement.

    Backhoe options for 2538

Boy that’s a deal for someone if they are including the mounting plate and plumbing. I feel sure that wont fit my 2538 but thanks.

    Backhoe options for 2538

Going on four years since I bought my 2538 and still zero complaints. Totally happy with it. I want to add a backhoe to it. I see the 60B is the correct “model” for it. I can pick up a 55B for a reasonable price used one time. I also see there are aftermarket (Bradco for example). Anyone know...

    Honda Pioneers

Had the 700. Not a bad machine but it made me nervous with the 3 speed auto grand regarding how expensive it would be to fix. The belt drive machines are way cheaper and easier to fix. Also the pioneer had a notable lack of suspension travel.

Need a 24” backhoe bucket for ford 555

Anyone have one to sell or know where I can get one? Actually managed to destroy the existing one beyond repair. It’s about a 1985 model and my understanding is this bucket is pretty specific to this model.

    Mahindra 2538 5th year review

Well I’m in my 5th year of ownership now. I’ve got 160 or so hours. I still stand by this: Of all the major purchases I’ve made in my life, this tractor is at or near the top of my most satisfying and actually worth the expense. I have picked up and stacked trees into a burn pile using the...

Mahindra 2538 Review after 2.5 years of use

Ok guys you all helped me out when I made the decision for which tractor to buy and thought I would follow up. Overall my rating on my 2538 is an A+. I now have just under 100 hours on it. I have used it for brush cutting / Bush-hog, dragging my 500ft driveway, various front end loader work, and...

Knowing what you know now, which mower would you buy?

Hi guys. I am looking at getting a new zero turn. I have a TimeCutter 5000 for the last 8 years. Still does ok, but the cut sucks in my opinion and I am getting ready to be mowing an additional 2 acres so we are talking up to about 5 acres of mowing. If you look at the picture below, take note...

Adding a 3rd function to 2538. Mahindra or WR Long

Got the right connectors. The hydraulics shop says they are called PCN6 connectors. The WR Long kit install was easy for anyone considering it. I ran the power from the keyed power supply off the ignition switch. Everything works as expected. Not sure what this grapple weighs but it is...

What's the best tool for this job?

Have about three acres to clear. Half of it is done and there are three piles that I need to move into a proper spot for burning. In the 1st pic, the woods behind it are the 2nd half to be cleared. My friend has a great Ford 555A back hoe. He's going to knock it down and I will use my Mahindra...

Adding a 3rd function to 2538. Mahindra or WR Long

Does the long kit have a hard mount that goes on the front of the loader for the 3rd function hose connections like shown in this picture (random example)? Or, do the hose just hang with a zip tie or similar?

Adding a 3rd function to 2538. Mahindra or WR Long

Here is the picture of my loader valve. Based on what you guys have taught me I'd say the one closest to the 12 o'clock position is the power beyond. (Top most one) Can someone confirm?

Adding a 3rd function to 2538. Mahindra or WR Long

Seems there is a factory kit and aftermarket. Is the factory kit easier to install compared to say a WR Long kit? I'm a car mechanic but don't have experience with tractors and hydraulics. I "get it" with an overview of what needs to be done but that's just from my underexperienced point of...
