Stop bolt won't go back in!

I'm still hoping some Kubota tech chimes in here and tells me how to move the swash plate forward or backward so the alignment hole appears. I've got a miniature snake cam in the hole and I don't see any alignment hole. The 7/16 -20 tap worked fine. Working on the new stop plug with my harbor...

    Kubota B7100 HST transmission woes

I have and had all the manuals before I removed the bolt as it is identical to a drain plug and sometimes things look a little different from a schematic on paper to the real thing upside down.

    Kubota B7100 HST transmission woes

I agree, everyone makes mistakes, nowhere in the manuals does it say not to remove the bolt. I've never seen a bolt in 50 years on the underside lowest point of a sump, not to be a drain plug. Until now!

Stop bolt won't go back in!

I agree, it is identical to a drain plug and even has sealing washer on it. What a ridiculous design to cause this much trouble for somebody who is trying to maintain the machine properly. I plan on grinding the head round so no wrench will fit on bolt so nobody makes the same mistake in the...

Stop bolt won't go back in!

Thanks for all the great replies, the bolt is actually fine, it's the threads in the case that I screwed up. The threads in the case got stripped as the hole was not where it should be before I forced it in. Thus since the bolt is a normal 10mm bolt with a small 1/4" shoulder on the end that...

Stop bolt won't go back in!

Taking it to a dealer is not an option, it just threads in, I will re-tap to a larger hole and use a bolt that's the next size up. I never moved the shift after removing the bolt, so it can't be too far off from the swash plate being aligned now. Why would it need to come apart and how do...

Stop bolt won't go back in!

here is the picture, the stop bolt is drain plug looking thingy at the bottom. Does it rotate or just flap back and forth?

Stop bolt won't go back in!

So I bought an old kubota B7100, wanted to flush all the fluids. Removed what I thought was a drain plug and it was actually a stop plug for the hydraulic control valve pump and then the bolt (plug) won't go back in. Something is preventing it from threading in. I tried forcing it and now the...
