I am considering getting a flail mower some of our pastures. One concern is that late in the summer we have a lot of milkweed growth. Would the milkweed stalks cause problems by wrapping around the drum of the flail mower?

I have an L5740 with three rear hydraulic remotes. When I peer straight down through the slots in the inside of the cab that contain the levers for the remote hydraulic control levels I can see the ground through an opening that is a few inches across. I am trying to determine if I am missing...
Hi,
I am planning to set my rear wheel track so that the overall width of the tires is 76.5". I am considering purchase of a used rear mount snowblower whose with is 74". Can anyone tell me if this is a big mistake or if I'll need to add wings to increase the blower width a bit?
Thanks,

Seriously looking at an L5740 and would like to know if anyone has experience with the effectiveness of the AC on a hot summer day? (It's hard to test that now up in New England.)
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm considering purchase of an L5240 or L5740. The most demanding use in terms of HP requirements will doing brush hogging some rather steep pastures with fairly thick grasses using a 6 foot rotary cutter. This will done in the summer with AC running in the cab.
I'm trying to determine...
I currently have an L2950 with loaded R4 tires that are set 5 foot wide (outside edge of the tires). I am considering getting a larger tractor (likely a 4740 or 5040) with a cab and will set the tires to 6 foot wide at the outside edge of the tires (I plan to get R4's in the new machine).
I...
Hi,
Am considering purchase of a Deere x500 or x700 series tractor. I'd appreciate hearing whether folks think all wheel steering is a big benefit (unfortunately, it looks like it only comes with the turf tires on the x500 series).
Also, I know that liquid cooling will likely prolong engine...
Does anyone besides Landpride make blades with scarifiers? I'm thinking of getting something like this, but the Landpride unit doesn't have an offset blade and wondering if other vendors might make something that does.
Thanks,

I'm considering a Kubota cab tractor. I do a lot of work in the woods and find that my current open station tractor can get pretty muddy. Seems like the cabs are sealed pretty tight (no drain holes in the floor) and could be a real pain to get the mud out of.
Could someone with a cab tractor...
Hi,
I am considering a hydrostatic tractor in the 40-45 HP range. I will be running a 6' brush hog on some fairly steep terrain. I know that hydro transmissions take a few HP, however, I am wondering if the horsepower loss increases as additional power is required to push the tractor up a...
