3-Point Hitch  BX24 3-Point Hitch Keeps Coming Loose

The rod that the check chain plate on my 3-point attaches to has a tendency to work its way loose from the slot that it sits in in the subframe. When the load that I am hauling with the hitch makes a particular angle, the rod will move into just the right position that it will slip left or...

    Frozen Hydraulics

Started up the BX 24 to do some hauling this morning. I haven't used the tractor for a number of weeks. And, it's been pretty cold here lately - well below 32 F at night for the last 10 days and mid 30's during the day. The tractor started up with no problem. After letting the engine run for...

    Right Side Flasher/Turn Signal Out

My right side flasher and turn signal (both) are out. Hence, I doubt it's the bulbs. I checked the quick connect connections near the lamp housing and they appear to be seated properly. Before I start tearing the tractor down and start tracing circuit continuity, is there something else I can...

    BX24 Quarter Inching Valve Quiestion

While trying to resolve the question of which loader QD points to attach the hoses from the Quick Hitch/Subframe on my BX24 (see related thread posted earlier today), the tech at the dealer told me to make sure that the Quarter Inching Valve on the BX24 was set at the "mid point" in order to...

Hydraulic Connections To BX2731 Subframe/Quick Hitch

Hi. Just installed the BX2750C snowblower on my BX24 yesterday. After figuring out that the person who assembled the BX2731 Subframe/Quick Hitch/PTO Drive set the drive shaft up incorrectly, the rest of the install went smoothly. I do have one question though... the hydraulic lines for the...

    Cleaning And Lubricating BX24 Cylinders

Should I be cleaning and lubricating the cylinders on my BX24, especially after heavy use of the hoe or loader? Specifically, I am referring to the "shiny rods" that move in and out of the cylinders (sorry...I don't recall the names of those parts.) Any advice?

Correct Position For BX24 FEL Bucket When Using Hoe

What is the correct position of the FEL bucket when supporting the front of a BX24 while using the hoe? Should the bucket be in the fully dump position or should it be level? It seems that the only way to effectively raise the front of the tractor is to have the bucket in the dump position...

    High Pressure Leak Horror Story

When the tech from Finch Services was at my place on Monday to look at my BX24, I asked him about the warnings regarding high pressure leaks from a pinhole in a line. He says that he knew a guy who apprenticed at another shop. One day he and the senior tech he was apprenticing with were trying...

    Rattle From FEL

Today while playing with the BX24, I noticed a rather loud metallic rattle  coming from the FEL while I was raising the boom and cycling the loader. The engine was at about 2200 RPM. I suspect that the loader stand was rattling, but I can't be sure since the rattle came and went and...

    Newbie Question

Ok. I understand what the Step Stay kit is supposed to do. The question I have is what happened (or happens) on BX24's that don't have the kit? I will have to look to see if I do or do not have them on my BX24. I know I don't have the newest seat. My dealer says that new seats will be...

Oil & Fuel  When To Change To 80w90 Gear Oil From UDT In The Front Axle

The manual for the BX24 (and I imagine all BX's as well as other machines) states that the front axle can use either UDT or 80w90 gear oil. How do I decide that I need to change from the UDT to the gear oil?

    Glow Plug Light

I was under the impression from this message board that when the key on a BX24 is turned to the pre-start position that the glow plug light would stay on for only a few seconds (depending on ambient temperature) and then go out, indicating that the engine could be started. The light on my new...

New User Mistake - Advice Please

I just purchased a BX24TLB. Today was the first day I've used it for any real work. At least five times today, when shifting from low to high (and vice-versa) I did so without braking. This caused the gears to grind a bit. Question: did I do any permanent damage? Thanks for reading. Jeff
