Buying Advice MF 1754 vs. 1758

Engine displacement is the same on 54, 58, 59 they just tweaked something for a bit more power between models. I would say the 1754 and 1758 probably handle close to the same work. I cut about 4 chords of wood this weekend roading a good 10 miles round trip to a place that has a huge pile of...

    Runway Maintenance with 1758

18" snow last 2 days. Opened runway with tractor. Hit 250 hours on unit. Was plowing in high range.

    1758 Value

Yes it's been my best unit. Owned a new Case/IH 55A, International 454 Utility, 2615 Massey, Kioti/Bobcat CT445, and older models from M Farmalls up to the 560. Also owned two ASV's a RC50 and PT60 and a JD Gator and RTV1100 Kubota. Equipment isn't new to me and it needs to go bang like a Glock...

    1758 Value

-20F today with 3" fresh snow; up from -37F lows last week. 1758 running well. I am plowing in high range for most of my snow removal. Sorry to hear owners woes with regard to regen cycles and no power with the HST. Mine has been the best value I could ask for at 240 hours now. I live in extreme...

    Massey website frustration

Though my dealer has been real decent I would still love my 1758 if I had woes. Technology and websites are frustrating as ****. I hate them frankly. Would rather go see in person but that takes time and effort. Having owned new other brands from India and Korea I gotta say the Japan build is...

New Holland 54D vs Massey 1758

Today's job with Massey at a cool 5F temp. 5 miles away on federal firewood permit. Black ash and birch. Love my Massey.

    1758 Snowmover

Have about 190 hours on unit. Will touch on some review. For cold weather starts, this tractor fires off in colder temps than any other machine I have owned. Though I plug it in, I have started without block heater in -5F... I just moved 2000 feet by about 75-100 feet wide of 2 foot compacted...

Is a Massery 1758 as "Grand" as a Kubota Grand L6060?

I use my 1758 almost daily. As with much of my equipment whether it's a handgun, chainsaw, or tractor; it needs to go bang every time I use it. Anything can break, but where I live being REMOTE, it's crucial things are reliable. I checked tractor house and looked at some of the pricing on the...

MF 1643 Thinking of Trading for a MF1749 or MF 1754

My 1758 nicest tractor I have owned. Soot regen cycle not an issue for me, particulate filter and emissions stuff was a worry but I am past that and don't notice it sometimes when it does cycle. I like my cab on the 1700 series has been a summer from **** with humidity and bugs and storms here...

No one talking about Massey Ferguson anymore ???

I was thinking about this too the other day. Most Massey owners I know are driven individuals that would rather get the work done than chat about it online LOL. Here are some pics from the past few days. Said it before, Love my Massey.

    Buying Advice 1758 Review

Wood cutting season. The 135 ldr/1758 combination is a great lifter. Green Birch heavy heavy. Roads in breakup here frost coming out super soft. Tractor roads in high empty and M range with bucket full. Without loaded tires no way would I have the stability and capacity.... Love my Massey

Plowing 3 1/2 miles with Massey

Made 10 passes on my 1800 foot runway to prepare for some aircraft operations. The 1758 is a Joy. Would buy another Japan Massey again in a heartbeat. Sold my ski-plane so getting ready for wheeled aircraft arriving.

    Digging my Massey 1758

I am sure happy I went this route. Despite the weight with my loaded tires I like the front axle engaged. I can keep a straighter line moving snow. Can plow in high range and the directional snow blade is like having a plow truck.

    1736 vs 1742 and dl 120 vs dl 125

Congrats on the tractor!! What is the fix on a squeaky 3 point lever? My 1758 is that way. Silicone spray or something?? Range lever on mine requires some tapping on the HST pedals sometimes and applying force at same time on shifter to get neutral. I dislike this a lot and it hasn't gotten much...

    Buying Advice 1758 Review

Tractor went into Regen at approximately 41.8 hours. I had gone up the road a few miles to work on a food plot. Tractor would only do 19 mph max. I attributed this to the road being soft and more drag so I though. Sometime during the tilling process a yellow light came on that resembled a low...

    Buying Advice 1758 Review

About 40 hours, soot level at 4. Glad I bought this tractor. Traction awesome. Now working the unit only in 2WD. Engine seems smoother and stronger and levers and controls limbering up. Wish it had a three point lever function outside of tractor when hooking up stuff. I ran a 84" rototiller and...

    King Kutter Tiller 84" sizing

Debated what size to go, for my D17 and Massey 1758 I am glad that I went with the widest one they had at LM Fleet. 2 hours on it and it seems to work at I hoped. This was all corn stubble before I started.

    Buying Advice 1758 Review

Up to 35 hours on tractor. Level 4 on soot bar. I have attached an I Hitch from John Deere on the back. It works well with most of my attachments but will not lock onto a 60" King Kutter roto tiller. I have 4 other King Kutter brand attachments that are not an issue. I am thinking that the hitch...

More on the Massey for those looking at the 1700 series,, I now have 23 hours on the tractor, at 20 hours the soot level bar graph went to 2. If every 10 hours I gain a bar then regen will take place around 50-60 or 5-6 bars. I drove the machine 20 miles today for wood. 10 miles each way and...

    Buying Advice 1758 Review

We had a few inches of snow so after work I plowed some, lots of drifting but not very deep snows. My tilt steering column still makes noise during operation. There is play in it and I will at some point see if they can address it. Not a major deal but I dislike rattles and such. I put the...

    Buying Advice  1758 Review

Have very little time in tractor but enough to say a few things. I have mostly skid steer time with loaders and the tractors were loader less for field work and slipping through the woods in tight quarters. These pallets were placed outside and have a larger capacity but like the idea of fitting in a pickup. Will just need to make sure if I haul wood there is a machine with forks at my destination. With green wood this Terex PT60 was light on the back side

Comparison  MF 1758 vs 1759 advice

Down to these 2 MF tractors. I priced out the only 2 dealers within 100 miles as I am near the Canada border in northern MN. Had green and red to chose from. Moving a little snow 55a

    Case IH 55A

Have 50 hours on her now since new. Mixed feelings so far. As I feared all the safety switches are becoming an issue.
