It occurred to me that this might be a better way to drag a fence than a log. It seems that it tracks pretty well behind the tractor. If you used another couple of straps to secure the rear portion of the fence to the scraper you could lift it up as well. The first picture was the original concept, but the fence kept moving aft of the scraper.
The second and third photos show how you need to attach it to the scraper to keep the fence in place. It worked pretty well. I got the fence free from somebody on freecycle.org, then spent 10 bucks on cargo straps. So far so good.

The pictures below show a better way to attach it.

Now that is a very good idea... I would never have thought of that. Is it your own idea or did someone else suggest it? I'm going to give it a try. Great post...{ For me anyway}

Thanks! I actually did dream that one up all by myself. If only it was marketable! This site has saved me so much time and aggravation I figured it was the least I could do to share it.

very clever. I will try that with my rear blade.

What is the purpose of the harro or fence? keeping the brush down?

Well the idea was originally spawned out of the idea of attaching a chain link fence to a log and dragging it around to smooth fields and trails. I figured since I already have a 425lb weight in my box scraper and it is usually already on the tractor these days, that this would be an easier way to drag around a fence for smoothing things. The scraper applies the downward pressure on the fence and the fence acts as a rough surface to smooth things without accumulating debris and filling up the box. It is for smoothing, not moving dirt. It also knocks grass and ferns down to make our trails more passable. I really need a bushhog, but that isn't in the cards at the moment.

You seem a little short! Do you use a step ladder to get up on your tractor?! And how do you reach the pedals?!! :D :D

Great idea, btw! ;)

thanks for the explanation. I have the same need for a bush hog but I am too cheap to spend the $ now since last year I bought a Jonsered forestery clearing saw before I bought the tractor. Your solution may be the perfect inexpensive solution to my needs
