Roy,
No connected article just a pic someone took of equipment on a local dealer lot.
The reason for the tires is flotation. However w/ all that material in contact w/ the ground Id also think it would give some increase in traction. | |

Ill bet soil compaction has something to do with it ! Just a guess of course from a non farmer !
