This mode is for a 2008 Jinma 284 with shuttle shift
I don't know about you, but I keep forgetting that my 4wd is
engaged. I also leave my ignition key on. So I came up with two idiot lights.
I bought 12 volt hi-bright lamps they come in a two pack
I am using a soft touch button switch, that way it will not
put pressure on the shifter, and pop it out of gear, and
18-22 gage wire, all under $5 .
the 4x4 light is going above the fuel shut off switch.
The other light is going above the ignition key, this is so I
can tell when I leave the key on, the one in the dash is not
bright enough see. Now I will be able to see the light from across the room.
Shifter braket:
Up front on the left side about 8" from the 4x4 shifter is a access plate just behind the bell housing. The top two bolts are 2.5" apart, and right in line with the shifter making it just perfect for a bracket.
As you can see I made a bracket for the switch , I used a 1"x1/8"x9" flat steel and bent it at 1" from the end, and drilled hole to fit the soft switch, the other end I drilled two slotted holes for adjustment of the bracket.
I used the dash switch that is fused protected for the power to the light and from the light to the 4x4 button to ground.
I am using the switch as a ground brake that way if you damage the button it will only go to ground, and the light will come on, and not blow a fuse..
